Hi friends!
Today, I want to share a card idea featuring an easy technique to build your own floral background.
I can’t say that making this card was quick, but it was definitely quite easy. I used the Altenew Build-A-Garden: Tulips & Friends as the main player for this card.
COLORFUL FLORAL BACKGROUND
I started building my floral background by white-embossing the outline stamp from the Build-A-Garden: Tulips & Friends Stamp Set onto a Watercolor Paper panel.
First, I white-embossed it once, covering almost the whole panel (coming from the right). And then, I filled empty areas around the panel edges.
If some elements of the tulip bunch overlapped, I brushed off the embossing powder before heat-setting it.

Once I was happy with how my floral background looked, I moved on to coloring areas in between the florals. I did it using the Lagoon Watercolor Brush Marker from the Winter Wonderland Watercolor Brush Markers Set.
It’s very easy to create such a background using Watercolor Brush Markers. I added some watercolor onto the panel next to a flower and then washed it out with a wet brush. Very quick and quite therapeutic!
Next, I moved to color the white-embossed floral elements using the coordinating Tulips & Friends Coloring Stencil and Blending Brushes.

To color the tulip heads, I used Cotton Candy and Corral Red Fresh Dye Inks. For the smaller flowers, Warm Sunshine, Caramel Toffee, and Paper Bag Fresh Dye Inks were used. I used Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades, and Evergreen Fresh Dye Inks to color the leaves.

To add some interest to the card, I also added some Pure White Ink Spray splatters. It helped even out some imperfections of the coloring and hide some flaws.
After that, I went ahead and created a couple of sentiment strips (white-embossed on Jet Black Cardstock) using stamp sets from the same set and popped them up onto the floral background panel.
Lastly, I foam-mounted the panel onto a white card base using the Instant Dimension Foam Tape.
I hope you liked the card idea that I shared today. Have a wonderful day!
