Hello and welcome to Altenew November 2015 release blog hop!

You probably just came from extremely talented Yana Smakula. If not please start from the beginning at Altenew blog and see what other members of Altenew’s design team have come up with.

Today we are celebrating the release of 10 new stamps and 6 types of 8.5″ x 11″ paper.

unnamed

This release is absolutely AWESOME! Made several cards for this release using new stamps and papers and  just cannot get enough playing with them.@altenew November 2015 Release. By @s_shayevich #card #cardmaking #handmade #diy #papercrafts #handmadeFor the first card black, white and gold was my palette of choice. First I gold embossed a flower and leaves from Beautiful Day stamps set on Classic Crest Solar White cardstock. This cardstock is ablsolutely amazing! So thick and smooth! After stamping I cut everything out with my scissors.@altenew November 2015 Release. By @s_shayevich #card #cardmaking #handmade #diy #papercrafts #handmadeNext stamped leaves on a back side of Gold Mirror cardstock (it is mirror indeed!), put it on a piece of foam, dry embossed leaves design with ball stylus and cut them out.Card_20151111_03On a Jet Black cardstock panel stamped small flowers from the same stamp set with white ink. Along with the sentiment from Halftone Happy set. Next I die-cut happy word using Happy die from Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and started assembling my card. Adhered the flower and leaves as a focal point, the happy die-cut to the black panel, which was adhered to the card base made from Classic Crest Solar White cardstock along with a piece of Gold Mirror cardstock underneath. A couple marshmallow and gold sequins were added as finishing touches.

Next card is very simple. First I made two colored stamping using lantana stamp from Beautiful Lady stamps set on Birch Wood cardstock (which is genuine wood!). I used my MISTI tool and masking paper for precise stamping and stamped with Grapevine and Evergreen inks. Added sentiment from the same set. @altenew November 2015 Release. By @s_shayevich #card #cardmaking #handmade #diy #papercrafts #handmadeNext I cut wooden panel into four fence planks, inked their edges with Dark Chocolate ink. Adhered planks to a kraft card base. I didn’t do the best job adhering them by purpose – to make them look more like a fence. Card_20151111_08Finally added wooden dots. Card_20151111_09Following card combines two styles, vintage and CAS. Vintage was my first love in cardmaking, before I found CAS and fell in love with it. I don’t make vintage cards anymore, but still love vintage things in my life. And sometimes like mixing these two styles. Like in the case of this card.
I stamped succulents from Succulents stamps set on a patterned paper and colored them with my Prismacolor pencils (I used Gamsol to blend pencil coloring). Stamped sentiment from  Thinking of You stamps set.
@altenew November 2015 Release. By @s_shayevich #card #cardmaking #handmade #diy #papercrafts #handmadeNext added a piece of Woodgrain Bark cardstock which I teared on one edge. Finished the card with twine and wooden hearts. Card_20151111_06Another card was made using Sketchy Cities America 2 stamps set. I wanted to create a scene of the city with its reflection in the water. So first I clear embossed the city and the sentiment on the top part of Classic Crest Solar White cardstock card base and then did reflection stamping (used a piece of acetate for it) – on the bottom part. Inked the bottom with Desert Night and Jet Black inks, and the top part – using Warm SunshineRuby Red and Ocean Waves. Added some sequins which finished the card.@altenew November 2015 Release. By @s_shayevich #card #cardmaking #handmade #diy #papercrafts #handmadeMy favorite card I left toward the end. Isn’t that Winter Cardinal awesome? I just lost my mind when first saw it.
This card was very simple but time consuming to make. First – the background. Cut a couple masks from masking paper, a circle for winter sun and snowdrifts. Masked a card base made from Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and inked it completely with Ocean Waves ink. Next I removed one snowdrift (the one on the right top)/mask and inked it using Sea Glass ink. Next removed the second one and slightly inked it using the same ink (or I would say – I just used ink remains on my blending tool). And finally removed the circle mask reveling cold winter sun.@altenew November 2015 Release. By @s_shayevich #card #cardmaking #handmade #diy #papercrafts #handmadeNext I made several branched from the same stamps set. Stamped them on cardstock using Dark Chocolate and Jet Black inks for a branch and Ruby Red and Dark Chocolate for berries. Then I fussy cut them. I left white space on the top to make branches covered with snow. Added some shine to berries with Wink of Stella and covered them with Glossy Accents. I applied glosssy on one berry at a time, let it dry and then applied glossy on a berry next to it. This way glossy didn’t merged as a one three-berried shaped blob and look more like separate berries. Card_20151111_11Finally I stamped the cardinal, cut it out and also covered with shimmer of Wink of Stella. Stamped the sentiment using stamps from Halftone Holidays stamps set and Jet Black ink. Adhered the branches and cardinal to the card base and added snow with white pen.

What a WONDERFUL collection of cards Svitlana, LOVE the variety of designs, LOVE the colours, LOVE the textures!!!
The cards using Beautiful Day and Beautiful Lady (my favourites from this release) are GORGEOUS, the specialty papers are EXCITING!!! It must FEEL AMAZING working with the Birch Wood, Woodgrain Bark and Gold Mirror!!! Your colouring of the succulents is so life-like and your cardinal, well all I can say is WOW!!!

You are quite the overachiever! All of your cards are extraordinary! The Cardinal, however, takes the cake. I appreciate all of the tedious layering / masking you did as you created a real masterpiece! I’m so glad you are on the Altenew team!
