Altered shoe

Hello, my crafty friends!

Today I’m showing a little unusual project for “today self”. But it was very “usual” for me a couple years ago, before I got hooked on CAS. I’m talking altered shoes.
This one was made more then two years ago and couldn’t show online as it was published in a real magazine. But now I can show it.

The base as usual – a real shoe (I buy the cheapest one from Pay Less Shoes). First I adhered pieces of scrap paper using white glue. This step helped later with painting it (as paper is much better base for paint then leather). Then added some texture with cheese cloth, lace trim and a zipper. Then with glue gun adhered a lot of “metal embellishments”, which mostly are trash: buttons, clay and resin embellishments, keys, chipboard pieces, staples, bottle cap, beads, watch parts, coins, paper flowers, micro-chip, screws .. well, you name it!

The next step – painted everything with white acrylic paint and then sprayed with misc sprays. As finishing touches dry brushed with white in the front part of the shoe, black – at the front of it,  added here and there some paint splashes (white and black).

It was pretty simple and fun to make. It’s been two years since I made it but it’s still my favorite shoe among all I made.

Thank you for stopping by!
