SHIMMERING HOLIDAY SLED
My first card features the brand-new Timeless Sled Die Set—a holiday classic that I just couldn’t resist turning into a shimmering, festive design. I was also eager to try the newly released Glitter Cardstock, so I used it to die-cut all the elements for this card.
Interestingly, the final color palette ended up giving off Hanukkah vibes. That wasn’t my intention (after all, I don’t think sleds and cozy sweaters are part of traditional Hanukkah celebrations—despite what the Hobby Lobby seasonal aisle might suggest!). But the cool blues and silvers made for an elegant, wintery look nonetheless.
I began by assembling the glittery sled. To add more depth and variation, I combined the new Moonstone and Sapphire Glitter Cardstock with the Moonlight and Turquoise sheets from the Glitter Gradient Cardstock Set – Ocean Reflection. This helped prevent the die-cut elements from blending into one another too much.
To give the two base sled pieces (the ones with the blades) more stability, I reinforced them with additional die cuts made from 100lb white cardstock. This kept the delicate sled blades sturdy and clean-looking.
During assembly, I adhered some elements flat and popped others up using both thin and regular adhesive foam squares to maintain a balanced and layered dimension. For the pieces adhered directly, I used strong adhesive tape—essential when working with glitter cardstock to ensure everything stays in place.
Next came the fun detail of a glittery sweater stripe! I created this element by applying Silver Shimmer Relief Paste onto Sapphire Glitter Cardstock, then trimming out a couple of stripes from the design. These were foam-mounted onto a white panel to add texture and contrast.
For the sentiment, I used a greeting from the Sleigh Ride Greetings Stamp Set, which I stamped directly onto the white panel.
Finally, I adhered the sled to the center of the panel, mounted the whole piece onto a larger base made from Sapphire Glitter Cardstock, and attached everything to a white card base for a sparkling, festive finish.

LUSH BERRY BRANCH
My next card features the Lush Berry Branch Complete Bundle, which showcases a classic holiday branch design. When it comes to festive berry branches, I’m always here for them—you can never have too many! I especially love how timeless and versatile they are for seasonal cards.
Speaking of preferences, I usually gravitate toward the traditional red and green palette for holiday cards. But I also enjoy switching things up with more unexpected color schemes. This time, I went with a red, blue, and gold combination—something a little different but still festive.
To add even more interest, I used a technique I haven’t done in a while: masking with clear embossing. It’s a great option for creating darker backgrounds when paper masking isn’t practical. While it doesn’t produce a crisp, clean result (so it may not be ideal if you’re after perfection), it works beautifully when your design can embrace a slightly rustic look.
I began by dry embossing a white cardstock panel using the Lush Berry Branch 3D Embossing Folder. Then, I added color to the berries and leaves with a Lush Berry Branch Simple Coloring Stencil Set — red for the berries and light blue for the leaves.
Next, I applied Clear Embossing Ink through the same stencil directly over the colored berries and leaves, then added Clear Embossing Powder and heat set it. This created a glossy, protective layer over the colored elements—exactly what I needed for the next step.
With that barrier in place, I ink blended the entire panel using Starlight Fresh Dye Ink, creating a rich dark blue background. Thanks to the embossing, the berries and leaves resisted the dark ink and maintained their bright color.
After the background was done, I went back in with the final detail layer of the stencil and heat embossed it using Antique Gold Embossing Powder, adding beautiful golden accents to the design.
To bring in even more sparkle, I added Antique Gold Metallic Ink Spray splatters over the panel. Not only does this give a festive touch, but it also cleverly disguises any small imperfections from heat embossing—like stray powder or uneven blending.
For the sentiment, I used the Wrapped With Love Stamp Set, heat embossed it in gold onto white cardstock, and then inked it up with Starlight Fresh Dye Ink to perfectly match the background.
As a final touch, I added Satin Gold Pearl Dots for extra elegance, then foam mounted the finished panel onto a white card base.
