Hi friends!
I’m sharing today 2 Spring floral cards made from one stamped panel, which was possible with the Altenew Flourishing Bouquet Bundle, a large 8″ x 11″ set. Altenew is running the Creativity in Bloom Instagram Blog Hop to celebrate this set. There is a chance to win a $20 or $50 Gift card if you follow the participating accounts and comment by May 6, 2025.
I went with a light and cheerful spring-inspired palette for this floral background, leaning into pastels (or pastel-adjacent shades).
To start, I stamped the floral image from the Flourishing Bouquet Stamp Set onto a white cardstock panel using Espresso Fresh Dye Ink. Because of the large size of the stamp and the specific placement I had in mind, I reached for the Stampwheel 2.0. Its removable side made it possible to position the stamp so it extended beyond the edges—exactly what I needed.
I actually since planned to get two cards from this design, so I used an 11″ x 4.5″ cardstock panel and positioned the stamp so it fully covered the bottom half and about half of the top half. The open design of the Stampwheel 2.0 was really helpful for this setup.
After stamping, I colored the floral image using the Flourishing Bouquet Simple Coloring Stencil Set. I used the two lightest shades from the Red Cosmos, Summer Afternoon, Warm & Cozy, and Deep Blue Seas Fresh Dye Ink Bundles to color the flowers in soft red, yellow, orange, and blue hues.
For the leaves, I went with Frayed Leaf and Forest Glades Fresh Dye Inks.
Once the coloring was done, I cut the panel in half to create two separate card fronts.
For the first card, I extended the colored area by blending Sea Glass Artist Alcohol Marker into the remaining white space.
I also added a few brown splatters for a more organic look.
The sentiment was created with the Timeless Sentiments 2 Die Set, with the shadow layer cut from Crafty Necessities: Sea Glass Cardstock.
I popped the sentiment up with foam tape, mounted the panel onto a white card base, and finished it off with Lapis Lazuli Enamel Dots.
The second card came together quickly. I added brown splatters to the floral panel, then foam-mounted it onto a card base made from Crafty Necessities: Sea Glass Cardstock.
This time, I used the Versatile Greetings Die Set for the sentiment and embellished the card with a mix of Lapis Lazuli and Summer Afternoon Enamel Dots for a bright and polished finish.
