Papertrey Ink | Cute Halloween Cat Card

Hello everyone!

This year on my drive home from Ikea run I realized how much I love October. It’s finally cool, but not freezing cold (although I would take absolute zero vs summer heat any day). It’s mostly sunny and bright, accentuating the beauty of the fall foliage even more.

And as if it wasn’t enough, many houses are decorated for Fall and Halloween, making my heart skip a beat!

I was born and raised in Ukraine where we don’t really celebrate Halloween (and it was definitely not celebrated and even heard of when I was a child), so it’s not naturally my holiday so to speak. But after I came to the US a decade ago it grew on me very fast. It took Halloween just a couple of years to take a proud place next to Christmas and New Year.

Making Halloween cards is a special pleasure of mine. I want to share today an adorable black cat card that I made last year (when I wasn’t in the place for blogging at all).

I used the adorable cat from the Papertrey Ink Boo Black Cat Stamp and Die Sets to create all elements of the card: cat, spiderweb, spider, stars, and giant moon.

The stars were die-cut out of Gold Foil Cardstock.

To make the background I ink blended Wilted Violet and Black Soot Distress Inks onto a white cardstock panel and sprinkled it with water.

The sentiment was heat embossed onto the background using yellow embossing powder.

I hope you like my card. It was quick and simple to make and I’m so happy with how it turned out.
