Hello everyone!
Masculine cards are known to be harder to make. For me they always were quite easy actually. Get a simpler design, more masculine color scheme and you have a card! Today I want to share a masculine card using the Spellbinders February Glimmer Hot Foil Kit.
This set has several scalloped frame plates as well as three sentiments. The sentiment fonts are perfect for a masculine card. And with some twist these rather feminine looking frames can be used to create an interesting background.
I started making the card by prepping the front panel for my card. I chose a dark gray cardstock for that. First I added some “industrial” look to it by swiping the Black Soot Distress Inkpad chaotically all over the panel. Using specifically distress ink in this case is not relevant. I chose it because of the ink pad as wanted to have sharp edges and rectangle impressions from the pad.
Next I hot foiled a sentiment from the set using the Silver Hot Foil. Then came the most fun part – creating the background. Which I did by hot foiling the frames from the set in the different directions until I was happy with the background I built.
That pretty much made the card. I finished it off my foam mounting the panel onto a white card base and adding several Silver Crystals.
