I’m honored to guest design on Ink To Paper blog today featuring some products from the recent December release. I have three elegant cards to share with you today.
FLORAL VASE
For my first card I used the A little Wispy Stamp Set and the set of matching dies. Vase with leafy stems can work for many occasions and alternating colors you can make this design work for different seasons as well.
For the background I used the Border Bling: Tin Stitch die-cut out of a Aqua Mist Cardstock.
I added natural twine around the vase neck for some natural feeling.
I popped a sentiment and accentuate the card with several teal crystals.
DIE-CUT INLAY
The elegant On the Border: From the Heart Frame is perfect for Valentine’s and Love cards. I used die cut inlay technique to create a multi color design.
First I die-cut this die out of a White, Pure Poppy and Hibiscus Burst Cardstock. Then I adhered the parts of die-cuts of each colors onto a white card base, inlaying them as puzzle pieces.
For the sentiment I used the To Die For Sentiments: Love Die and to pop up the sentiment I stacked red and white die-cuts with a slight shift.
For additional interest and pop of color I added several red crystals.
INK BLENDED BACKGROUND
I made a blended background using Ripe Avocado and Tropical Teal Inks and then sprinkled it with water.
After adhering the On the Border: From the Heart Frame die cut I run it through a die-cutting machine with a thin shim to “press” the die-cut into the background. I used two sheets of printer paper folded twice for the shim (so there were 4 sheets in the shim). I did it initially to adhere the frame and all it’s intricate elements to the background. But it also flattened the die cut and as I said kind of pressed it into the background, creating an interesting effect.
And then I trimmed the edges to then foam mounted it onto a white card base.
The sentiment I stamped using the same inks that I used to make the background. Lastly I added several clear droplets to accentuate the card.
