Hi crafty friends!
This week over at Studio Katia we’re sharing feminine/Mother’s day cards. And today I’m sharing a Mother’s Day card featuring recently released the Spring Bouquet Stamp Set. Katia’s floral stamps are amazing and this one is not an exception. So beautiful and dainty.
I started making the card with creating the floral element. I white embossed the bouquet onto a watercolor paper and watercolored it. I used my Sakura Koi and Zig Gansai Tambi watercolors. I am not a big expert in watercoloring, maybe it isn’t a good idea to mix watercolors from different sets (which in theory could have different qualities). Usually when I choose colorw to work with I refer to my swatches and pick up those I like. Not paying much attention to brands.
After watercoloring was done I die-cut the bouquet using the matching die.
I die-cut a dotted panel out of Taffy Cardstock using a die from Dotted Patterns Set 1. Then I wrapped some hemp twine around it, tying a bow on the right side.
Let’s take a moment here to talk about hemp twine. I like using any twine really in my cards, but especially I love a hemp one. It’s natural, easy to work with and always adds an elegant and classy touch. With this being said somehow I COMPLETELY forgot that I love it and own a lot (and by “a lot” I mean – A LOT). But making this card I was choosing a twine to use here and suddenly remembered a forgotten draw where I have some random stuff hemp twine included. Oh my… I was so happy to find it. It was like a product from the past, when I used it much often. Such a nostalgic feeling!
I believe in close future you will see me using it very often lol.
Moving on! After that I popped up the panel onto a Rock Candy card base using a sheet of foam.
The spring bouquet was foam mounted onto the panel.
I white embossed a sentiment from the set onto a stripe of Rock Candy Cardstock and foam mounted it onto the card.
Several Snow Crystals finished off the card.
I think this bouquet looks very beautiful in blue. And I like how it stands out against the gray panel.
Have an amazing day!

Your card is spectacular! The blues used are so vivid and to me with that outcomes, mixing brands is a good thing. The addition of the hemp does add a classy touch. I really enjoy seeing what you create!
