Simon Says Bouquet Of Thanks. Two Cards

Hello friends!

Today I want to share two cards I made using new Simon Says Stamp Bouquet Of Thanks stamp set from the new One Of A Kind release. I was lucky to be able to play with it and couple days before it was released. This set is amazing! First of all it’s a flower set, and flowers are my favorite type of stamps to work with. I really like the light and kind of doodling style these flowers are drawn. It also has several useful sentiments. I made two cards using this set (so far).

WATERCOLOR OF WHITE EMBOSSED IMAGE

This flower bouquet calls for watercoloring, doesn’t it? I had to make one watercolor card using it. Which I did.

First I white embossed the bouquet onto a watercolor panel and then colored it using Daniel Smith watercolors. I recently got my first tubes, the set of 6 essential colors. I used Phthalo Blue Green Shade from the set to color flowers. I didn’t go with all those rules of light source or petal shapes. I was just adding water to them followed by adding pigment. I often enjoy such style of “no rules” watercolor 🙂

Next I mixed Phthalo Blue Green Shade with Hansa Yellow Light to get green and colored stems and leaves using it. This set is called Aquarelle Essentials Set as you can get many and many of different colors and shades using these basic colors. But I’m not one of those people who would do it on regular basis haha. Of course I plan to buy some more tubes in future 🙂

I also decided to add some color droplets onto a card. I like this effect along with watercolored image.

I stamped a sentiment using SSS Soft Navy ink and adhered the panel onto a gray card base. To finish off my card I added several clear droplets.

GOLD WATERCOLOR

This card is so me 😉 It’s on a deeper side color wise, you know I like making such cards. And it’s blue, blue is my favorite color. I used SSS Woodgrain cardstock here, woodgrain is another my love 😉  And finally yellow and blue color scheme of it reminds me the flag of Ukraine 😉

I started making this card by first creating blue wood planks. I inked a SSS Woodgrain panel paper using SSS Island Blue ink. After that I cut in into 4 stripes on inch wide  and inked the edges of each with SSS Soft Navy ink.

After that they got adhered onto a white card base.

I gold emboss the flower bouquet onto a white cardstock and watercolor it. I wanted it to be all gold. And I do have pearlescent watercolor. But I decided to make my on by mixing Hansa Yellow Light from my Daniel Smith set with Gold Perfect Pearls powder. In this way I got more intense gold watercolor. Which I then used to color the embossed bouquet. I also colored some area around it as didn’t want any white border around in the die cut which I later made using matching die.

I foam mounted the die cut onto the card using black foam adhesive squares. The sentiment was white embossed onto a piece of white cardstock, inked over it with SSS Island Blue ink, cut out with scissors and adhered onto the bouquet die cut.

To accentuate my card I added several gold sequins.
