Hi there! Today I want to share yet another holiday card. It was made a couple weeks ago for Lesia Zgharda monthly challenge inspiration from DT. but I never shared it here. Even though holidays already ended I decided to still share it. The challenge was to make a card featuring red and embossing. After I found out the challenge theme I saw this card in my head right away. Which doesn’t happen to me very often, usually I need to do some brainstorming.
But in this case I just knew I wanted to create a winter village in the background with some standing out elements on top.

To make this card I first heat embossed a bunch of houses and pine trees onto a card base I made out of Rock Peppermint cardstock. I used WOW! Matte Dull clear embossing powder here. I really love this powder, it doesn’t have shine as regular powders do. Here I wanted my winter village to be as “backgroundy” as possible. And matte powder is perfect for this task.I made masks for houses out of masking paper, was applying them onto houses where they would overlap.For the focal point of my card I stamped a Carpathian house onto a white paper using SSS Red Lipstick ink. Then I particularly die cut snow drift using a die from MFT set. The house was cut out using scissors. I also stamped and cut out several trees.

Finally I foam mounted all “white” elements to the bottom part of my card and added several sequins to finish it off.
