Altenew year in review 2016/ Cards by @s_shayevich

This post is also available in: Russian

Hello and welcome to Altenew A Year In Review Blog Hop! Our design team and amazing guest designers sharing the best creations we made using Altenew supplies. You may saw them before, but still isn’t it a great way to look back one more time at the year coming to its end before going forward?altenew-a-year-in-review-blog-hop-graphic_12282016You probably came from Laura Bassen blog. If not – you may consider starting from the beginning at Altenew blog and see what other members of Altenew’s design team and guest designers sharing (and also you have a chance to win fun prizes).

I should admit it was hard for me to choose only four cards. I’m very critical to myself and dislike a lot of cards I make. But apparently when it comes to ones made using Altenew supplies – I like much more cards then usual. I should thank to amazing and unique Altenew designs. It’s hard to make something bad using them 🙂

So here is my top 4 for 2016Altenew year in review 2016/ Cards by @s_shayevich

OFFSET WATERCOLOR FLOWERS

The card below was made for Altenew and WOW! collaboration.Gold embossing and watercolor is a perfect match. With Altenew Wild Hibiscus. By @s_shayevichI used Wild Hibiscus stamps set to make it. Embossed the flowers and sentiment onto pink panel using Pearl Gold powder. The same flowers were embossed onto Tim Holtz watercolor cardstock and watercolored using Koi watercolors. Flowers then were hand cut and foam mounted to the pink panel. Which in turn was adhered a white card base with adding small stripes of Altenew  Gold Mirror cardstock on the sides.

STAMPING ON LAYERS OF VELLUM

The next card was made for Altenew Celebrating Parents Card Drive Blog Hop. If was such a great cause, Altenew was running this drive collecting cards for Mother and Father days for elderly people.Stamping on layers of vellum. Card by @s_shayevichThis was one of the cards I made for that hop, using one of my favorite card recipes – stamping on layers of vellum.
Stamping on layers of vellum. Card by @s_shayevichI used Beautiful Lady stamp set to create this card, which was stamped on the card base and vellum layers using Dark Chocolate, Grapevine and Evergreen inks.Stamping on layers of vellum. Card by @s_shayevich

GOLD PINECONES

This card I made for Altenew and Pretty Pink Posh collaboration. Inspired by glittery holiday composition i saw somewhere in the city. I used several holiday stamp sets in this card – Poinsettia and PineWinter Cardinal and Modern Deer.Brass embossed pinecones and branches. Altenew stamps. Card by @s_shayevichPinecones were heat embossed using brass powder and colored with COPICs. Branches were stamped using Espresso ink, and berries – using Rocky Shore ink. Then using Versamarker I added embossing ink on berries, branches and cones, covered them with Gold Tinsel powder and heat set them. Brass embossed pinecones and branches. Altenew stamps. Card by @s_shayevichThe panel was foam mounted on a Peanut Fudge card base, with brass embossed sentiment from Modern Deer on the bottom.

GOUACHE MAGNOLIAS

And the last card I want to share today is definitely is not least. I think it’s the best card I ever made. To be honest I cannot believe I was able to make it, and I think I will never make anything better. I made it back in July, when decided to finally open gouache paint I had bought a couple years before. Of course stunning Magnolias For Her set plays not the last role in this card.Gouache Flowers with Altenew Magnolias For Her. Card by @s_shayevichCut out of Altenew Pale Gray cardstock panel was inked with Hickory Smoke Distress Ink and then slightly sprayed the panel with water using Distress Sprayer.
Gouache Flowers with Altenew Magnolias For Her. Card by @s_shayevichUsing Ranger Super Fine Silver Embossing Powder a couple of big flowers, several buds and loose petals were embossed onto a  Neenah Solar White cardstock and then cut out using scissors. The big magnolias were colored with gouache paintGouache Flowers with Altenew Magnolias For Her. Card by @s_shayevichFloral cluster was mounted to the panel, partially adhered flat and some parts got dimension by using clear dimensional glue dots.
Gouache Flowers with Altenew Magnolias For Her. Card by @s_shayevichThe sentiment was stamped onto a white stripe of cardstock using gray ink and foam mounted to the panel. Which then was adhered to a white card base. Finally I added several marshmallow sequins and put some dots using a white pen.

By the way, here is a picture that inspired me for this card. It was on a wall on one of train stations, which I passing by everyday. I saw it while a train was stopping there and it caught my eye right away. I liked the color scheme of this card. Uneven gray background with white and red focal point. I remember rapidly taking picture on my phone before train moved, so I could remember the name of the show and google this picture later.2-all-or-nothing-nfl-cardinals-amazon-original
