Hi there!

I am on Altenew blog today sharing some Easter Decor ideas.

Starting with a fun way to create bunnies out of pinecones from Altenew Poinsettia & Pine stamps set (yep, this set is a holiday one, but it’s always great to use such off-season). A couple months ago I showed how you can make some cuties using the pinecone stamp, I made a deer and an owl that time. The bunnies are made the same manner. Extremely easy and fun and something you can do with your kids.Easter Decor. @s_shayevich for @altenew. #decor #homedecor #handmade #easter #diy #papercrafts #altenewFirst I white-embossed bunnies parts on watercolor paper. For bodies I used pinecones from Poinsettia & Pine set, for ears and paws – ovals from Altenew Simple Shapes and the inner parts of ears and paws I just hand drawn with my Versamarker (it doesn’t have to be perfect, in fact – it’s even better if it’s not perfect). After heat embossing I added some color with watercolor and hand cut all details.

For the bunny front view I took additionally a couple googly eyes, a pom-pom, cut three thin stripes of paper from white cardstock for whiskers and assembled the bunny adhering all pieces together.  For the bunny … rear view I just needed one pom-pom to play role the most adorable thing on Earth – a bunny tail. I just love how they turned out! There’re lots of ways I see they can be used. You can use them to decorate an Easter basket or bag, as well as can become a part of home decor (adhered to a flag banner lets say, or slipped into a picture frame or a door casing so they look like peeking out of there).Easter Decor. @s_shayevich for @altenew. #decor #homedecor #handmade #easter #diy #papercrafts #altenewI love home decor, it’s my another passion and I can splurge from time to time buying home decor goods. Sometimes it can be pricey, not speaking of finding place to storage each holiday home decor (ask me how I know).  Some people would love to decorate for holidays but just have no space to store all that stuff. So here is one idea for you – you can just add some Spring accents decorating goods you already have.

For example in our living room I have this Ikea clock which I spiced up adding some flowers from Painted Flowers set.Easter Decor. @s_shayevich for @altenew. #decor #homedecor #handmade #easter #diy #papercrafts #altenewAs well as made my bird house I thrifted several years ago blossom (it has chalkboard stars on the front part which I covered with flowers). Easter Decor. @s_shayevich for @altenew. #decor #homedecor #handmade #easter #diy #papercrafts #altenewThese are only a couple examples but you can add such accents to lots of things in your home. Picture frames, mirrors, wall art, candles, you name it. If you have some books of spring colors stacking them on a display spot will also work as decor. Or – you can take books with titles that relate to Easter or Spring and by adding some flowers to them you can create a great decor piece.

When I add some decor touches to everyday things – I adhere them using the cheapest glue stick. It can hold them in place for some limited time and when you want to remove them – it won’t damage your item. Any residue left can be cleaned with a damp cloth.

In February I showed how to make a Valentine decor using lots of roses from Vintage Roses set.  The same idea can be used for Easter as well. Soft color roses assembled in a shape of an huge egg or cross can be a great decor item.

And – at the end of the day you don’t end up with 10 boxes of home decor you need to throw all your belongings to find a place to store them haha. Just a pack of die-cuts that can be stored in a coupon accordion 🙂

Hope this post can give your some ideas how to bring some Easter or Spring decor to your home.

You are creative and think outside of the box. I like that! Your pinecone bunnies are something I have never thought of and are so cute to boot, as well as your other home deco ideas.

Thank you, Tricia! I got these ideas from my childhood DIYs, when we did creatures from real pine cones 🙂
