Altenew + Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Happy Friday and welcome to Altenew and Scrapbook Adhesives 3L collaboration blog hop! Both design teams are showing project made using supplies from these companies.  And you probably came from Beth Pingry – 3L blog. Scrapbook Adhesives 3L is a company that offers enormous variety of adhesive supplies, which are not only fun but also very good quality.1120_ScrapbookAdhesivesBy3LI’m showing a couple of projects I made for my planner and a card.

Are you a planner girl? I am. Planners are so hot right now but I was addicted to them long before this trend.  On the other hand – I am not a regular planner addict. When it comes to its decor I am not so advanced planner decorator. Mostly and firstly because I have paper crafts for my creative outlet. And when it comes to planners – I want it to be pretty of course, but first – practical and useful.

First I want to show how I used Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Keepsake Envelopes. Which can be used in several ways in a planner.

In the craft section on mine, where I plan my craft projects, I made a subsection for Altenew DT assignments (as those the highest priority and need to have a separate space in a planner). I made a divider stamping background using Watercolor Wonders stamps set. I keep decor of my planner seasonal and currently it wears the fall one. So I did this divider in fall colors, using Altenew ButtercreamWarm Sunshine Caramel Toffee,  Paper BagMango SmoothieDark Chocolate and Grapevine crisp inks. After stamping the divider I laminated it using self-laminating sheets. I used ones from Scotch which can be found on Amazon, an office supplies store or even some generic ones are sold at a Dollar Tree. They’re not regular laminating, rather just adhesive clear sheets. Not as sturdy as laminated ones but they’re not so bulky as those. For this divider my choice was something not bulky, as I do not need tons of protection for this divider. After “lamination” I adhered a self-adhesive keepsake envelope (large, 4.13×3.62″).  My planner is kikki-K, size medium (which corresponds to Filofax personal). Pages size is 3.75×6.75 and this envelope works great, sticking a bit as a tab.
Planner_20151118_01Usually I put in this envelope drafts of stamped images which I want to use brainstorming a project when I’m out and about. Adhesive on these envelopes is very strong. It won’t peel off during planner use (as did the envelope secured with washi tape I used before for this purpose).Planner_20151118_02Another envelope I used in directory section of my planner. They fit business cards perfectly. I store here ones that I can need currently. Planner_20151118_03The next thing that you can always need in a planner are action stickers. They pop up attracting attention, can save time used instead of writing down an action word and, especially in the case of smaller planners, help saving space.

After spending like ages on etsy looking for something that would work for me and suit my planner (but won’t cost more then my planner itself) I just gave up and decided that will do them myself. One thing that comes to mind – just use those planner stamps that filled the market recently. But I do not like stamping in my planner. Tried it and didn’t liked it. Mostly my planning sessions are taking place not at my craft desk, but in the office, in a Starbucks or even on train. Putting a sticker down is the best option for me.

So I quickly created some stickers for planning my Altenew DT work. I used an “end” symbol from Oriental Orchid stamps set (just cut it from there, I cut stamps all the time, they don’t mind :)) for marking blog posts in my editorial calendar and actually planning writing those posts. For planning projects I used a small leaf from  Altenew Vintage Roses stamps set. I used to color code my activity but currently prefer keeping planner decor in a seasonal theme. So for fall activity used Paper Bag ink and a corresponding image (for Christmas time stickers I used Ruby Red ink stamping “and” symbol and Evergreen for stamping a pine branch from Poinsettia & Pine).

Did my stamping on regular printer paper, as bulk isn’t something I want to have in my planner.  Planner_20151118_04After finishing stamping I adhered Scrapbook Adhesives  by 3L Adhesive Sheets to the back side. These sheets are very easy to use and are perfect for creating custom made stickers.Planner_20151118_05Then punched teeny-tiny stickers with my circle punch. Planner_20151118_06You can think it’s too much fuss, but it wasn’t at all! For me personally searching for stickers online took much more time for nothing. These custom made are the right size I need, the color I want now and took like 10 minuted to make a 2-3 month worth stickers 🙂Planner_20151118_08And guess where I store them? In another keepsake envelope I sticked to a divider 🙂Planner_20151118_07And lastly want to share a simple card. Using one of my now often used Poinsettia & Pine stamps set.Planner_20151118_09The card is very simple. First made the background.
On a kraft card base made splutters of Picket Fence Distress Paint with my new tool – Tim Holtz Distress Splutter Brush (which I love soooooo much!). White embossed the sentiment in the bottom right corner using stamps from Halftone Holidays set.

Next white embossed and die-cut pinecones and branches on color cardstock and started assembling my card. I used Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Black 3D Foam Squares to attach the pinecones clusters. This cluster is made in two layers. As the background is kraft and pinecones and branches are rather dark – white foam squares would be noticeable from sides. Which is not big deal, but I prefer better color matching if I can. It’s great that there is such option as non white squares.Planner_20151118_10You maybe noticed that I like working in dark color scheme and these black buddies are my life savers. Been using them for several years. And did I mention? The adhesive on them is so strong and reliable!

And now to the fun part! 🙂

THANK YOU for sharing your CREATIVE INSPIRATION … I really need to use more Kraft and the black foam squares sound AWESOME, much better than using a marker to blacken the sides of white ones 🙂
