Hello!
I really need to stop making fall cards and start working on Christmas ones (as there is almost no time left).
The only problem that I’m so inspired by fall. Which isn’t really here yet. In NYC summer is so long, like from April till October. I still have my AC on. Not like 24/7, but still..
Anyway, today I’m sharing two cards, fall ones, with leaves.
The first one is a little bit too white for fall card. But, these leaves.. I don’t know.. for me they always remind me fall, made in any color.First on the card front panel I embossed leaves with dies and then partially die-cut them. I cut die-cut parts of the leaves with my craft knife leaving only partial negative die-cut in the cardstock (so one part of a leaf was embossed in the cardstock, another part – die-cut). Next I die-cut the same leaves from another cardstock, scored them in the middle. For each leaf I adhered one half to the back part of the cardstock, folded another half to the front and adhered to the front with transparent dimensional adhesive (huge glue dots).
Next I adhered a piece of gold glitter cardstock to the back. Stamped the sentiment, added some glittery enamel dots and finally adhered the front panel to a card base using adhesive foam.
Stamped my sentiment with Wplus9 Old Gold ink. Which is GORGEOUS. It’s not metallic one as you can think from its name. Neither it’s pigment as usually gold inks are. It’s dye ink of amazing old gold color. Love it! I want to link this card to Addicted to CAS Challnges#72 – Leaves.
The second card I made in OCC Watercolor EM. Jennifer Rzasa showed how to free hand paint things. You should see her flamingo!!!! He (or she?) is amazing.
But as I’m in fall mood so my take of this techniques was a leaf. Made it with watercolor pencils. After finishing it (like several hours later lol) – stamped the sentiment and added some splashes.
Thank you for stopping by!

I love the white die cut leaves. Can you explain again how you did that? I’d love to give it a try.

Thank you Teri.
It’s probably hard to explain.. I’ll try to make a small photo-tutorial for how to do this. Stay tuned 🙂
