WATERCOLORED EMBOSSED BACKGROUND
I love embossing folders as they’re so quick and easy to create a card with. The new Mega Succulent 3D Embossing Folder is one of my new favorite one.
I embossed a watercolor panel using the folder and then watercolored it using the Watercolor 36 Pan Set (although I only used one color really). I did a quite basic watercoloring, focusing mostly on highlighting the embossed design.
For additional interest I added white and blue splatters onto the panel and then foam mounted it onto a white card base.
To finish off the card I added a white embossed onto a black strip sentiment.
WATERCOLOR PENCILS AND EMBOSSED BACKGROUND
Got my second card I used another new embossing folder – Banana Leaves 3D.
First I embossed a blue cardstock panel using it. Then I added shadows around the leaves using a watercolor pencil and blended it out with a wet brush. I only needed small amount of water to do the blending and the cardstock didn’t warp at all.
After that I colored with the same pencil all textural elements of the background and again blended it out with a wet brush.
Next I wrapped a blue twine around the panel and foam mounted it onto a white card base.
To finish off the card I added a sentiment strip.
