Hope your week is going great. Today I want to share a couple of Christmas cards featuring Spellbinders Foiled Basics by Yana Smakula Collection for Glimmer Hot Foil System.
FOILED BACKGROUND
First I made a tone on tone foiled background using a red cardstock panel, Christmas Organic Foliage Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set and Glimmer Hot Foil Roll – Crimson Stars. It was a bit tedious work to foil the whole background, but it was totally worth it.
Besides it didn’t take much time. First – I cheated and didn’t foil in the area under the wreath. Also I was placing several hot plates at a time onto the panel for one hot foil run. So it was relatively painless. When I finished with the panel I foam mounted it onto a white card base.
After that I made the wreath using the Christmas Foliage Circle Border Glimmer Hot Foil Plate And Dies and Glimmer Hot Foil Roll – Matte Silver and then popped it up onto the card.
Lastly I made the sentiment using the Yana’s Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set and Glimmer Hot Foil Roll – Crimson Stars, adhered it onto the card and added several sequins.
TWO COLOR WREATH
My second card has a similar design, but a bit simpler and has different color scheme. I choose a Pale Gray Cardstock for my front panel, foam mounted onto a white card base.
To make the wreath I used the Christmas Foliage Circle Border Glimmer Hot Foil Plate And Dies and Glimmer Hot Foil Roll – Emerald Facets. Then I also made small elements using plates from the same set and the Glimmer Hot Foil Roll – Crimson Stars. Which I adhered onto the wreath. I die cut a white cardstock circle and popped it up on top of the wreath.
The wreath then was popped up onto the card.
I made the sentiment using the Yana’s Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set and Glimmer Hot Foil Roll – Emerald Facets and adhered it onto the wreath.
Lastly I added several sequins to accentuate the card.
