The Ton | Big Peony

Hello everyone!

If you follow me on Instagram you may already saw this card that I made for The Ton 5th Anniversary Release. There is an Instagram blog hop is still going on for this release where you can see all new products and inspiration. There are several days of the blog hop and of course prizes to win.

For my card I used the new amazing floral sets – Large Florals: Peony and XOXO Peony. I stamped them using dye inks from The Ton: Vanilla Frosted Cupcake, Lemon Drop and Beach Blondie for flower heads, Soft Garden and Bright Fern for leaves.

After stamping I cut out all elements using my trusty scissors.

Then I created a grunge/cement looking background onto a watercolor panel. First I made a messy watercolor wash onto the panel using gray watercolors.  I made it “two layered” so to speak. First I made one layer of wash, let it dry and then added another layer on top.

Then I let it dry and added some water splatters using my Distress Sprayer, blotted the water and let the background dry again. Next I added a white spray splatters on top. All those splatters and layers of watercolor added a lot of texture to the background making it look like a cement.

After that I foam mounted the panel onto a white card base. Followed by adhering the floral elements on top.

Then I popped up a sentiment strip (white embossed on black).

Lastly I added several Oyster Gray Liquid Drops.
