BUILD-A-FLOWER: LAVENDER
RUSTIC BIRTHDAY CARD
I decided to make a card in rustic style to showcase this project. Lavender flower totally is associated in my head with this style.
I stamped the flowers onto a Parchment cardstock using purple and green inks. Stamping with dye inks onto a non white cardstock gives a bit different result versus white cardstock stamping. The ink colors kind of mix with the color of the cardstock and may not be as bright or distinguishable. But on the other bad it adds this rustic feeling to it. Which I was going for.
Then I made a woodgrain background onto a Parchment card base front using background stamp from the Walk In The Woods Stamp Set which I stamped with Espresso Ink, followed by blending the same ink around the edges.
I adhered a Parchment panel onto the card base followed by adhering a white Frilly Frame die cut on top.
Then I slightly adhered two flowers together and tied a bow around them. After that I adhered them onto the card.
Lastly I added a sentiment from the Birthday Builder Stamp Set stamped onto a white strip with brown ink. I adhered the ends of the sentiment flat and added one adhesive foam squares in the middle. To accommodate the volume that other elements of the card create. So the sentiment turned out kind of arced above the card middle. I really like this effect.
