PILE OF STOCKINGS

The new Christmas Stockings Set is packed with different patterns to create a stocking for any taste. I couldn’t decide which design/pattern to use so made them all 🙂

Altenew Christmas Stockings. Card by Svitlana Shayevich

I used red and green inks to make my stockings, mixing and matching different patterns. After stamping all stockings I die-cut them with the matching die.

Altenew Christmas Stockings. Card by Svitlana Shayevich

Next I made a panel out of Parchment Cardstock and added some Pure White Spray splatters onto it.

Altenew Christmas Stockings. Card by Svitlana Shayevich

Initially I planned to adhered my stockings onto it forming a background. You know those backgrounds when you stamp elements all over it. So I wanted to do similar but with die-cuts.

So I was moving around my die-cuts, deciding how to position them. And then I needed to put my project aside to take care of something else. So I simply shoved all of them together on the Parchment panel and put aside. And when I came back to this project i saw this pile of stockings and kind of liked them. And decided to leave them piled.

So I adhered all stockings onto the panel.

Next I die-cut Wishes out of Solar White cardstock using a die from the Holiday Script Words Die Set. Adhered it onto a Velum stripe, which in turn got adhered onto the panel. I popped white embossed on black merry on the top right of the Merry die-cut.

To finish off my card I foam mounted the panel onto a white card base and added several Snow Crystals to accentuate the card.

HOLIDAY BOW

The new Holiday Bow Stamp Set is quite self sufficient set. It has a bow, several branches (pine and leaves), a poinsettia. So many images and possibilities. You can use them on its own or combined or mixed and matched.

Altenew Holiday Bow. Card by Svitlana Shayevich

I stamped several elements using red and green inks and die-cut them with the coordinating dies.

Altenew Holiday Bow. Card by Svitlana Shayevich

I made a white die-cut of the new Cozy Flannel Die and adhered it onto a white card base. Followed by adhering all my elements on top.

Altenew Holiday Bow. Card by Svitlana Shayevich

I made my own red cardstock my swiping the Crimson Dye Ink Pad onto a white cardstock and die-cut a word Merry from Holiday Script Words Die Set out of it.

I adhered the Merry onto the card and popped white embossed on black christmas in the right top part of the Merry.

FESTIVE POINSETTIA

You know how they say – you will never have enough of poinsettia stamps. I do have several and it doesn’t stop me from wanting and loving more.

The new Festive Poinsettia Stamp Set is incredible! So beautiful and realistic. It called to be watercolor, which I did.

Altenew Festive Poinsettia. Card by Svitlana Shayevich

First I white embossed it onto a watercolor paper (for this amazing flower I went with the best paper that I own – Arches Hot Pressed). Next I watercolored it using Altenew Watercolor Set.

Altenew Festive Poinsettia. Card by Svitlana Shayevich

After coloring the flower I added a messy wash of the corresponding colors, really like how it turned out.

Altenew Festive Poinsettia. Card by Svitlana Shayevich

The sentiment was white embossed. It looks like invisible on the photo but in real life it isn’t. It’s quite visible. Just enough to read it. I didn’t want to bring any other colors to the card.

Altenew Festive Poinsettia. Card by Svitlana Shayevich

Lastly I foam mounted the watercolor panel onto a white card base and added several Snow Crystals.

FAUX CHALKBOARD

Chalkboard is one of those designs I always loved and will never be tired of. It works for any theme, but especially with holidays. I called this card “faux chalkboard” as usually chalkboard is made on a black cardstock. Here I only used white.

Altenew Festive Poinsettia. Card by Svitlana Shayevich

I stamped the new Bountiful Branch using red, greens and brown inks onto a white panel. I stamped it once in full hanging from the top of the panel and then another one partially on the right. After finishing each section I was stamping over with a solid stamp and embossing ink and clear embossing on top.

Altenew Bountiful Branch. Card by Svitlana Shayevich

Then I blended Jet Black Dye Ink onto the panel. Clear embossing protected my stamped image and resisted the black ink. After I finished creating my “black cardstock” I ironed off the clear embossing. The idea of this technique is similar to what I showed in this video.
Altenew Bountiful Branch. Card by Svitlana Shayevich

I smudged some white ink all over the panel to add that chalky look.

Then I white embossed a sentiment in the bottom part, stamped over the same sentiment using a white ink with a slight shift to the bottom and right (to add that shadow you may see on chalkboard images).

Lastly I foam mounted the panel onto a white card base.

This new release is a great one. Love the stocking card, the chalkboard card, but the showstopper is your beautiful poinsettia card. I would frame it and hang it in my living room if I were you. Thanks for link to the video on the autumn card– somehow I missed it when it was released.

But then you kept going and they all became my favorite all the way through the last one, I just love them all hehe. I love all four cards but particularly the first and last. he stockings are so adorable and the card you made is terrific, looks tricky but we know would come together well and be fun. And I love the berries, the stamps used, the flow of them and, very much, your use of them.

OMG GIRL….I knew I would be in for a treat when I got to your name and could not wait to see what you created, as always STUNNING cards!!! Hopefully I can remember all the thoughts I had as I was drooling over these beauties and reading your comments. The first one with Stockings is so adorable and I had to laugh at the way you happen to come up with how you were going to put the stockings on the card, funny, loved it! The next one is my favorite stamp of the release, I love how it turned out, BEAUTIFUL and I love how you made your own “red” cardstock, genius girl!! The 3rd one is just STUNNING, probably my favorite if I had to pick the 3rd or 4th. The watercoloring is AMAZING, really Svitlana just so Beautiful!!! It was a WOW, OMG card, even the colors were amazing, and I am like you I love Poinsettia’s, just such a beautiful flower I would have them all year round if I could. The Chalkboard was a favorite because I love doing chalkboard also except I do it the “easy” way or the “lazy” way. LOL, I use Chalkboard Ink or Chalkboard paper, but it one of my very very favorite looks. One last thought I really enjoyed how you did the “set-up” of all your cards, they were all so beautiful, the photos deserve to be in a magazine, your photography was really beautiful. Thanks for a really amazing post today, I really enjoyed it!!!!!!!
