Spellbinders December Holiday 2017 Blog Hop (CLOSED)

Hi friends!

I’m excited to join Spellbinders December Holiday 2017 Blog Hop today.  You probably came from Stephanie Low blog. If not – you may consider starting from the beginning at Spellbinders blog and see what other designers sharing. There are prizes too 😉

I made three cards using new Spellbinders Holiday products.

CHRISTMAS LIGHTS WREATH

For my first card I used Christmas Lights Stamp and Die Set. It has very pretty lights wreath, which I stamped using COPIC-friendly ink onto a white cardstock, colored with COPICs and die cut using matching die.

I made a card base out of red cardstock and made the background using another stamp from the set, strings with stars, by heat embossing with matte dull embossing powder. I love this powder a lot. It’s not shiny and if you want to have settled background it works perfectly for this task.

Lastly I foam mounted the wreath onto the card base.

STAR STRINGS

The next card is also made using Christmas Lights Stamp and Die Set. Here first I embossed star strings stamp onto a dark blue panel.

Monochromatic Christmas card. With Spellbinders Christmas Lights Stephanie Low. Card by @craftwalks.

I used silver tinsel embossing powder, it has some glitter in it. Which is hard to see on a photo. But regular silver powder will work as well.

Next I made an A2 card base out of white cardstock and stamped the sentiment onto it using Navy ink. I used stamps from the set for the sentiment.

Lastly I popped the panel onto the card. I like monochromatic and quite formal look of this card.

SNOWFLAKE SNIPPETS

The last card is probably my very favorite. First it includes using designer paper with woodgrain design. Also I really love Snowflake Snippets Dies which I used here.

White snowflakes on wooded background. Christmas card. Spellbinders Snowflake Snippets.Car by @craftwalks

To start off I cut a panel out of woograin designer paper and adhered it onto a white card base.

Next I took a white cardstock and adhered Stick-It sheet on one side. Followed by die-cutting the snippets out of it. Stick-It is a sheet adhesive with very thin backing. Which made it suiting perfectly intricate die-cutting needs. As you can see these dies are very detailed and I was able to die-cut the with no problem.

After die-cutting I removed backing and adhered the die-cuts onto the card. Stick-It created layer of adhesive covering all die-cut details, it’s more convenient to work with such dies using it, oppose to applying liquid adhesive on all those details.

I also die-cut the sentiment using a die from Naughty Or Nice Die Set and adhered it onto the card.

This design can work both for Christmas and any other winter card. As soon as the season has snow – it will totally fit 🙂

I hope you liked my ideas. Make sure to check out what other designers made.

Have a great week!

I really like the silver-and-blue card – I think I might have to have the strings/stars stamp. I also think tbe contrast of the snowflake card; the way the white pops gives a sense of what snow in sunlight really looks like. Thanks!
