Hi friends!
Today I want to share a cozy card made using Cotton Comfort Stamp Set. I’m in love with stamps in this set. So beautiful and big!
When I think about cotton one of the first associations I have are comfort and coziness. On my card I tried to replicate this feeling.
To start off I stamped one cotton boll onto a Parchment panel using Sand Dunes Ink. I was using a stamp positioning tool for stamping and left the stamp mounted in it. Next I went ahead and colored the cotton with pencils. I did very simple coloring using white and brown pencils. Then I placed my panel into the stamp positioning tool back and stamped again with Embossing Ink. Following by adding Copper Embossing Powder and heat setting it.

Next I stamped another boll using Sand Dunes Ink. I didn’t do any masking as this ink is very light and wouldn’t be seen under pencil coloring anyways. Which I did the next. Then I stamped over with Embossing Ink, added Copper Embossing Powder. Some of the powder stuck to cardstock in overlapped areas. I brushed it off with a dry brush. And then went ahead and heat set it.
I did the same for all other elements.
I did this trick with stamping and coloring before heat embossing as outlines of these stamps are pretty thick and you can see that I got pretty thick embossing, which would be hard to color over with pencils.
And I also heat embossed the sentiment in the right bottom. Added some dots with a glue pen and heat embossed them as well.
To add some coziness to this card I covered cotton heads with flock powder. I have this powder from the very beginning of my craft “career”, I don’t use it very often. But neither I get rid of it. As it comes in handy when I want to add some soft elements to my card.
The powder I have is the one from Martha Stewart, I got it many years ago in Michaels. Not sure they still make it. I’ll link below a similar product from Queen and Co. Also flocking is widely used in nail art, so I believe it can be found where nail art products are stored. And of course searching Amazon is always a good idea 🙂
So I covered the locks part with clear liquid glue, poured some flocking on top, covered with a piece of printer paper and pressed it. And then shook the excess off. Leaving a this layer of flocking on them.
If you don’t have flocking this design will work too. Maybe just coloring of locks with white pencil I’d make more standing out (since I was covering them with flocking I did very basic coloring).
Hope you like my card 🙂 Have a great day!
