Altenew’s 3rd Anniversary Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello and welcome to Altenew’s 3rd Anniversary Blog Hop! It’s hard to believe that Altenew is only 3. So much done within such a short period. So many amazing products are released and milestones achieved! We’re celebrating this event with 4 days of blog hops, where you can find a lot of inspiration, fun and interesting information about the company and people working with it as well as lots of prizes.

You probably came from Stephanie Buice blog. If not – you may consider starting from the beginning at Altenew blog and see what other members of Altenew design team and guest designers sharing.

I made three cards to celebrate 3 years of Altenew. An amazing company with beautiful and unique designs and very nice and kind people to work with. I’m so happy and proud to be part of it.

COLORING WITH SPRAYS

When Altenew released Artist Markers one of the main benefits of this product for me was their matching to Altenew inks. Which is great for no line coloring effect. With Altenew sprays we have the same match when want to go for more watercolor result. They give an amazing result when used as a liquid watercolor paint.

To start of I cut a panel out of Arches watercolor paper and stamped floral design using stamps from Garden Treasure stamp set and stamping with Dusk ink for flowers and Forest Glades for leaves. I used masking paper to make masks for overlapping elements.

Then I colored my design using Dusk and Forest Glades sprays.

Create watercolor like look by stamping an outlined design with Altenew inks and coloring with matching sprays. Card by @craftwalks
Altenew inks are not waterproof and they bleed a bit from contact with water. That’s was exactly what I needed – bled outlines added to watercolor look.

When I finished coloring I added several drops (well, not really several, rather a lot haha) of the same ink sprays. Then I stamped a sentiment from Floral Frame set using Dusk ink and made it look like it was painted as well by tracing it with spray using the smallest brush (I used not very fancy and pretty affordable brushes from Ranger).

Finally I adhered the panel onto a white card base which finished off my card.

VELVETEEN PURPLE AND GOLD

For some reason there are not so many people who like purple and violet colors. And many people even hate it. I personally really love these colors. Moreover in combination with gold the colors of this family look luxurious.

I also noticed that a background made by inking with violet had kind of velveteen look. Inking with other colors don’t give such effect.

For my card I went with simple and kind of typographical look, similar to what we see on party invitations.

Create a velveteen like look by inking a panel with Altenew Midnight Violet ink and add a luxurious look with gold embossed sentiment and gold letter die cuts. Card by @craftwalks.
First I added gold dots to the top part of white panel. I used Tiny Bubbles stencil and traced dots with Versamarker. Which I gold embossed then.

I inked the whole panel using Midnight Violet ink and adhered it onto a white panel.

I finished off the card by adding a sentiment, letters for which I die cut from Gold Mirror cardstock using Inline Alpha dies.

BLOOMING THANKS

Continuing gold and violet theme I have one more card for you.

A good thank can bloom. Simple card using Altenew Golden Garden, violet and gold embossing. Card by @craftwalks
Here I was using very beautiful Golden Garden stamp set and set of matching dies. This set is an oldie but goodie one. One of those I consider to be a must have.

To make this card I first gold embossed the top layers of each flower onto a white cardstock. Then I stamped the bottom layers using Midnight Violet ink followed by inking with Midnight Violet and Cosmic Berry inks.  I then die cut all flowers.

The thanks word was die cut out of Gold Mirror cardstock using Thanks die.

I cut and scored a white card base out of Solar White cardstock and assembled the card by adhering all elements.

I made flowers kind of growing out of the sentiment. Recently I already did this trick and really liked such look. Several gold sequins and purple gems finishing off my card.
