Hi there! Several days ago I shared on Altenew blog a a two layer holiday card, one layer of which is not-bulk shaker layer, and another is just a simple card. It’s been a rough week health-wise and pretty busy work-wise, so only today I finally sharing it here.To start off I made an A2 side folding card base out of Pale Gray cardstock. Then a rectangle window was cut out of the front part of the base using rectangle die. I heat embossed the top layer of the tree from Sketched Evergreen stamp set onto a sheet of heat resistant plastic using silver powder. Which was adhered into the card base window using strong double sided tape.
I added some sequins mix onto the plastic and adhered another plastic sheet on top using strong double sided tape as well. I also added several silver sequins onto the front part of the card base.
To mask off adhesive that was seen through plastic – I glued a frame on top, made out of the same Pale Gray cardstock.
I created a top folding card base out of Classic Crest Solar White cardstock a bit smaller then A2 size and adhered it inside of the gray card base. On the front part of the card I stamped bottom and middle layers of Sketched Evergreen using Desert Night and Dusk inks. The part of the sentiment from Halftone Holidays Stamp Set was stamped below the tree using Desert Night inks. Halftone Christmas word from the same set was stamped onto Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and cut out using coordinating die.And I also added several silver sequins on this layer too.
The inside part of this layer is where you write your greeting.
So the first layer of this card is all shiny and sparkly and silver. With some blue tree picking from behind. And then when you open it – you have one more card, before get to greeting itself 🙂
I like this Sketched Evergreen set in particular as each layer of the tree can be used not only together but each one separately. Giving different yet finished results.
