Hi there!
I’m on Altenew blog today sharing a simple Valentine decor idea.
Being a big home decor enthusiast I always seeking for decor items to buy, but also trying to DIY some as well. The idea of this piece was in my mind for a year, and finally I was able to realize it. First I stamped and die-cut a lot of roses using Vintage Roses stamps set and coordinating Vintage Roses Dies set. I made roses of different sizes and shades using Cotton Candy, Frosty Pink, Coral Berry, Ruby Red and Grapevine inks. Next I stamped and die-cut several leaves using stamps and dies from the same sets (stamped with Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades and Evergreen inks).
I found a frame in my stash that could fit for this project, being guided by it figured out the size of the heart and cut a heart from a piece of sturdy cardstock.
Adhered roses on the cut heart covering it completely and then shoved leaves here and there, in order to prevent my flowers to blend too much.Next I added several roses which were adhered on craft foam die-cut, to add some dimension to that decor piece. I used Stick-It adhesive to adhere foam die-cuts to the paper one. Stick-It is a very thin adhesive product which works great when it comes to die-cutting something thick (like foam or thick cardstock) with wafer thin dies.
Finally I adhered roses heart to a piece of white cardstock cut to the frame size.
If you are not into home decor too much – you can implement this idea just for a simple card. You will just need a smaller heart and less roses.
