Background check. Holiday cards

Today I have two holiday cards to share. Both are made for OCC Background check.
Both came out extremely simple.
The first one features partial embossing, which I made using Tim Holtz embossing diffusers. I used the one with a circle inside. I made this background and then couldn’t think of what to do next. Wanted to use some stamping as this was the purpose of this flat round in the middle.
Went through my holiday stamps and almost everything didn’t fit. There were wrong size or wrong style. Finally found one that seems to fit the bill – a gingerbread buddy. I stamped it in the middle, added buttons (as this stamps set presupposes using buttons …. and added a wreath made with buttons also.This card looks so old fashioned 😉 I feel like nowadays nobody makes such embossed background, not speaking of buttons lol.
The second card is more in the fashion.I made background with colored embossing paste that I applied through Nordic design stencil. The stencil is not the same width as the card panel and I didn’t want it to end just like this – with wide side padding. So I applied the paste in an unequal manner, so these padding looks more natural. Next a vellum stripe with a die cut sentiment was adhered on the top of it.
Love this card much more then the first one. It feels like more of my style.
