Positive and negative die-cutting

Hello!

Today I want to show my two new card using positive and negative of the same die – Simon Says Stamp Clustered Leaf one. I don’t know if you feel the same, but for me personally among many wonderful dies on the market there are some that are ideal of their kind. Like ideal clouds or speech bubbles, butterflies or snowflakes. It depends on one’s taste of course. This die from SSS is an one of ideals for me. It gives both gorgeous positive and negative die-cuts. So used both making cards the other day.

The idea of the first card came first. I was inspired … by couch cushions I saw in a video of one of my favorite Youtubers. I like their kind of quilted look (in fact have no idea how it’s called, I just remembered this die then saw the pattern).

First I embossed a yellow cardstock with Hero Arts Dot Swirl embossing folder. Then die-cut design. Added a simple sentiment on a stripe of black cardstock and attached, a piece of vellum underneath and adhered  to a card base using 3D adhesive.

A sentiment on a black stripe and a couple of sequins finished it.cas card yellow die-cutSo here you have it – two simple card with using just one die and minimum supplies. But I just love how they turned out.
