I want to share today a couple more holiday cards I made using Spellbinders Press Plates for Betterpress Letterpress System.
Seems like I’ve been on a vintage kick recently and these two cards are no exception.
VINTAGE POSTAL STAMP
Actually, the style I opted to go with was so to speak dictated by Merry Christmas World Press Plate, which reminds me of a postal stamp, speaking vintage to me.
So I made the background using said plate by inking it up with a brown ink and pressing it onto a Kraft cardstock.
After that, I added ink blending with Vintage Photo Distress Ink, water splatters, as well as white spray splatters to additional aged look.
To make the focal point I used the Joyeux Noel Press Plate & Die Set to create this adorable bird.
Which I colored with markers, cut out, and popped up onto the background.
The background panel was in turn foam mounted onto a white card base.
I made a sentiment using the Joyeux Noel Press Plate & Die Set as well and also popped it up onto the card.
VINTAGE NOEL
For my second card, I decided to make it on the vintage side, sticking to a similar color scheme as well.
I used the Festive Noel Press Plate as well as brown ink to create the NOEL lettering.
Followed by ink blending the Salty Ocean and Vintage Photo Oxide Inks onto it.
I trimmed the panel to make it narrower and then ink blended the Salty Ocean and Vintage Photo Distress Inks along its edges.
I wrap a red baker’s twine around the top part of the panel tying a bow on a side.
Lastly, I foam-mounted the panel onto a white card base.
