Spellbinders | Dual-Toned Holiday Cards

Hi friends,

I’ve officially started off holiday cardmaking of 2023 and am excited to share a couple of Christmas cards made using Spellbinders press plates used with the Betterpress Letterpress System.

DUAL-TONED HOLIDAY BACKGROUND

The beauty of Spellbinders Betterpress Letterpress System is that it allows you to create an effective card with little effort.

My first card took almost no effort at all. I used the Merry Christmas & Happy New Year Press Plate to create a dual-toned Christmas background.

I inked up the plate using red and green inks and pressed it into a white panel.

Then I trimmed it a bit on each side and foam-mounted onto a larger panel. Which previously was ink blended using distress inks of similar colors (I have all the inks used linked below).

Lastly, the larger panel was adhered to a white card base.

DUAL TONED NOEL

For my second card, I used the awesome Festive Noel Press Plate. I just love the large NOEL design of this plate!

The plate was inked with green ink and then pressed into a white panel.

Next, I colored all elements using alcohol markers. Followed by ink blending the Peeled Paint Distress Ink onto it.

I was working more heavy-handed along the edges, leaving the middle lighter.

After finishing ink blending I sprayed the panel with water using Distress Sprayer. Then it was foam mounted onto a white card base.

Lastly, I added several red sequins to accentuate the card.
