CITRUS FRUITS PATTERNS

I used the awesome, juicy and yummy Citrus Pruits Patterns Layering Stencil Set to create a happy and colorful card.

It was so quick and easy to create a fun background using this stencil. I wanted it to be the main character of the card and not add much more players to it.

But I did want to add a bit more interest to the card.

Which I did incorporating a couple of tricks I have up to my sleeve when it comes to spicing up backgrounds.

First, I cut the background panel in a way that it’s positioned with a tilt. Next, I added a yellow jute twine in the top part of the panel.

The panel was foam mounted onto a white card base.

The sentiment was made using the Zesty Life Bundle.

Several enamel dots from the Fruity Colors Enamel Dots were added to accentuate the card.

LEMON CRAZE

My next card features another Layering Stencil Set that creates a citrus background – Lemon Craze Stencil Set.

Using this stencil I quickly stenciled a lemon background onto a yellow cardstock panel.

Using non-white cardstock totally worked in this case as I was using yellow and green inks. Applying dye inks (which are translucent) onto a non-white cardstock should be done with caution, as the background color will be “seen through”. But in the case of this color combo, it totally worked.

Yellow inks obviously didn’t conflict with the yellow background, as soon as I made sure that they were darker than it. And the green color you get by mixing yellow and blue anyways, so there is no conflict in this case either.

The last step of the background creation was adding white splatters to it.

After the background was ready I moved on to one of my favorite techniques – hidden dimensional sentiment.

To make the zesty word dimensional I die-cut it out of the background using the Bold Alphabet Die Set. Additionally, I die-cut all the letters 5 times out of green cardstock. Each letter die-cuts were stacked and adhered together using a liquid adhesive.

I adhered the background panel onto a white card base and inserted each dimensional letter into its corresponding negative space.

To make the rest of the sentiment I made two white-on-black label using the Birthday Builder and Happy Birthday to You Stamp Sets.

ZESTY LIFE

My last card features the new Zesty Life Bundle, which includes coordinating stamp, die, and coloring stencil sets.

This card was also very quick and simple to make. Using coloring stencils really makes the coloring process a breeze. The card design is quite simple as well. I totally relied on its boldness and color scheme to play the main role.

The lemons were stamped, and colored using coloring stencil and die cut. There are 2 lemon branch stamps in the set, I made two of each.

After that, I foam mounted them onto a Jet Black Cardstock panel,  creating a dimensional citrus background.

The sentiment and several enamel dots finished off the card.
