Spellbinders | November Glimmer Hot Foil Kit – Bold Foiled Christmas Card

Hello everyone!

This month’s Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil Kit – Curved Christmas Glimmer Borders is about beautiful borders.

The set features hot foil border and sentiment plates and a couple of dies, it can be used for both holiday and non-holiday cards.

Of course, I opted for a holiday card, since the season requires it. I played a lot recently with not quite traditional (or not at all traditional) color schemes for holiday cards that wanted to go back to basics of green, red, white.

First, I foiled the leafy border onto white cardstock using Green Glimmer Hot Foil. Next, I foiled the sentiment above using the Matte Silver Glimmer Hot Foil.

After that, I masked some leaves of the border using masking fluid and after it dried blended the Rustic Wilderness Distress Ink onto the panel. I did quite heavy-handed blending along almost the whole panel, reducing the intensity towards the top of the panel. 99 of 100 I cannot resist adding water splatters onto a distress ink blended background, I couldn’t resist this time as well.

And of course, I die-cut the curved edge along the foiled border using a die from the kit.

Next, I rubbed off the dried masking liquid, revealing several white leaves.  For more white elements I added several drops of Gloss White Nuvo Crystal Drops. Hext, I introduced red by adding drops of Autumn Red Nuvo Crystal Drops.

Some more red and white was added via wrapping bakers twine around the top part of the panel, which I tied with a bow on the left.

Lastly, I foam mounted the panel onto a white card base.
