Ink To Paper | Three Cards Using Watercolor

Hi friends!

Today I want to share three cards with you featuring Papertrey Ink / Ink To Paper products. All cards were made using watercoloring as the main technique.

LEAVES BOUQUET

I used the Birthday Bouquet Stamp Set in a bit unusual way but only using the leaf part of the bouquet for my card. First I stamped it onto a watercolor paper using the Hawaiian Shores and Tropical Teal Dye Inks and then die-cut it using the matching die.

To achieve a watercolor-y look I first stamped the whole image with Hawaiian Shores, then inked the stamp up with the Tropical Teal Ink, blotted off some ink with a paper towel and stamped again.

Then I clear embossed the leaves around a top part of a watercolor panel and watercolored over the embossing using teal colors.

Next I die cut a Border Bling: Skinny Embossed Frame out of the panel. I adhered the inside part of the frame die cut onto a white card base and then foam mounted the stamped leaves die cut along with the frame onto the card.

Lastly I popped up the sentiment stripes and added several clear droplets.

DRAMATIC CUPCAKE

The Sweet Celebration Die Set contains dies that you can use to make a cute cupcake and it’s inspired me to make this card. I went with an ultimate cupcake with all frostings possible.

To make the cupcake I die-cut a cupcake liner out of a watercolor paper and watercolored it in brown.

Then I die-cut frosting elements 5 times each and watercolored them in different colors in a rainbow order. The cupcake dies not only die-cut cupcake parts but also emboss a design.

After watercoloring all my die-cuts I “defined” the embossed lines with a white gel pen.

Then I assembled the cup cake by adhering all elements together.

I made a card base out of a Perfect Match: True Black Cardstock and sprayed it with a white spray.

After that I adhered on top two black On The Border: Sunburst Border die cuts.

Lastly I popped up onto the card the cup cake and a white embossed on black sentiment from the Just Sentiments: Belated Birthday Mini Stamp Set.

RAINBOW BALLOONS

Balloon Wishes Stamp Set inspired me to go out of town with watercoloring rainbow.

First I dry embossed the Border Bling: Skinny Dotted Frame into a watercolor panel and then trimmed it along the frame outer edge.

Then I white embossed a line of overlapping balloons in the top part of the panel.

Before heat setting I was brushing the embossing powder off the border areas to have the balloons design kind of framed. Then I watercolored all the balloons in a rainbow order. To add more interest I “pulled” watercolor beyond the balloon outlines. Then I added a white ink spray splatters.

After that the panel got adhered onto a white card base, a white sentiment from the To Die For Sentiments: Birthday Die Set was adhered in top.

Lastly I added several sequins.
