I’m loving so much this month Spellbinders Small Die Of The Month – Enjoy the Ride. This set has a lot of dies to make a very realistic and quite detailed scooter.
How cute is it? There are also several sentiments and balloon dies in the set as well.
I made an almost clean and simple card in a classic and a maybe a bit outdated design. I don’t know why I call it outdated lol. I just feel like this. Currently with coloring media being very trendy for several past years we mostly see (and make) an artsier, sometimes messier (for lack of better word) designs.
And such basic, sketch-like card makes me feel almost nostalgic. Do you know what I mean?
Anyways, back to the card. I made the scooter in pink-white color scheme. Saw such Vespa on Pinterest and wanted to recreate.
I was using a double-sided adhesive in the areas where the inlaid elements would go to secure them to the card. I encourage you to check out this video at Spellbinders channel with the similar concept (Yana used dimensional adhesive there, but the idea is the same).
Next I die-cut a white panel using Scored And Pierced Rectangles Die Set and foam mounted it onto a Dark Gray card base.
I die-cut a circle out of a Pale Gray Cardstock using the Fancy Edged Circles Die Set.
I also cut two stripes of Jet Black and Cotton Candy Cardstock and die-cut their sides with the same die I used for the panel (to have piercing on them as well).
After that I adhered the stripes onto the panel and popped the circle on top.
Next I adhered the scooter onto the card. Lastly I popped a sentiment stamped with pink ink and added several pink and black enamel dots.
If you’re interested in joining to the Small Die Kit you can do it here. Spellbinders also have 5 more subscription clubs which you can check out here. There are several Value Club options available for those who would like to join multiple clubs at once.

Such a fun card – your lovely design is making me rethink how a complicated die cut can still create a classic, clean and simple styled card. Who knew a vespa could look to elegant on a card! Great job!

Hi! I just came across this site, via Pinterest. I’m interested in signing up for the die of the month. I would REALLY like the die set for May, 2019, Enjoy the Ride. Is there any way I could purchase it. Any information would be great. Thanks!

Hi Linda, sometimes you can find products from the Month Kits in the store a month after or so (depending on the product availability). Luckily the bike is in stock now, I’ve linked it in the supplies list.
Hope this will help.
