Hello crafty people!
I think it’s official that this year I’m very into bold green holiday cards. I made more of such than any other year. One of the reasons probably is the wonderful Rustic Wilderness Distress Ink. It has such a rich green color, perfect for holiday cards. This time I want to share a Christmas card featuring bold two-tone stamped background.
I started with partially clear embossing the Holiday Stems and Berries Cling Background Stamp onto a Fog Cardstock panel. I mounted the stamp to my mini MISTI lid, inked the bottom half of it with clear embossing ink, and stamped it.
Next, I poured Ultra Fine Clear Embossing Powder onto the panel and brushed off the power from some areas of the stamped impression using a detailed dry brush (mostly I did brushing off the smaller branches).
Finally, I heat set the powder that wasn’t brushed off. I had to do the same one more time, in order to fill a couple of missed spots.
After that, I did all the same in the top part of the panel. I could totally stamp the whole panel from the very beginning, instead of doing its bottom and top halves. But it was easier to do this way since I was brushing off the powder from some areas.
Lastly, I added some white splatters onto the panel.
Upon finishing with the panel embossing I blended the Rustic Wilderness Distress Ink all over it, covering the panel completely. And then, I stamped over with the background stamp again using dark green ink. This time only those elements which I was brushing off on the clear embossing step were stamped (the embossed elements resisted the ink).
To make the sentiment I used the CZ Design Merry And Bright Die Set, which I fleshed out by die-cutting 5 times out of white cardstock and stacking them with liquid adhesive.
The sentiment was adhered onto the panel, which in turn was foam mounted onto a white card base.
On the finishing touches stage, to add a more holiday feel, I added several Crystal White and Autumn Red Nuvo Crystal Drops.
Have a wonderful week!

This has to be one of my top favorite cards I have seen this pre-Christmas card making season. I am a green lover and this card is just amazing! Rustic wilderness is being moved to my craft desk along with the new clear embossing powder I just ordered. Fabulous card Svitlana!
