PROJECTS

I’m sharing two cards today featuring the newly released Watercolor Roses Stamp Set.

BLUE AND GOLD CARD

I really love glue and gold combination and decided to make a card in this color scheme.

I stamped a bunch of elements from the set onto a Navy Cardstock using Antique Gold Pigment Ink. Followed by die cutting them using the matching dies.

Then I made a panel out of the same cardstock and added some splatters of Antique Gold Metallic Spray. Next I cut a bit bigger panel out of Gold Foil Cardstock and adhered it under the Navy panel. I cherish gold cardstock and using the whole piece just to have a frame around seemed like a waste for me. So I cut out the middle piece out of it leaving the frame enough to get it adhered under my panel.

Then I foam mounted the panel onto a Navy card base. I used black adhesive foam squares for that so it’s not very visible if you look at the card from its side (not sure that normal people do it, but in an OCD jerk).

Then I assembled a floral bouquet on that card using my stamped and die cut elements. I adhered the leaves flat using a liquid adhesive and flowers I foam mounted using again black adhesive foam squares of thin and regular thickness (different thickness allows me to level flowers differently).

After that I die cut a word hugs from the Script Words Die Set our of Navy and Gold Foil Cardstock and stacked them with a slight shift. Initially my goal was to use just gold die cut, but it would blend with the floral elements stamped with gold. So I added a blue shadow to fix this issue.

Next I popped the sentiment onto the card.

Lastly I added Gold Foil Confetti to accentuate the card.

MONOCHROMATIC FLORAL BACKGROUND

For my next card I created a layered floral stamped background. And I was using the same stamp set as for the first card.

I stamped the same floral background onto a white card base and a white panel of the same size. I also white embossed the same design onto a Navy Cardstock.

To achieve “sameness” I was using my mini MISTI for stamping of course. Tho I’m using one or another stamping platform for all my stamping really.

I knew that I was die cutting certain areas from the white and navy panels using Rounded Rectangles Die Set, so I didn’t stamp those elements of the background that would not “make the cut” so to speak.

After I finished stamping I die cut rounded rectangles out of the white and navy panels. I made a die cut in the middle of the navy panel and in the bottom right and top left corners of the white one.

Then I foam mounted two white cardstock die cuts onto the card using thin adhesive foam squares. And then foam mounted the navy one using both thin and regular adhesive foam squares. Different thickness allowed me to level die cuts differently. So the white die cut are raised above the card just a little bit and the navy rectangle is raised above them.

Next I white embossed twice the sentiment onto a Navy Cardstock strips and popped them onto the card.

I finished off the card by adding several blue sequins.
