Altenew | Stamp Focus: Thank You Builder

Hi, friends!

Today I want to share three cards using an awesome sentiment stamp set from Altenew – Thank You Builder.

This set has a lot (and I mean – A LOT) of sentiments of different sizes, fonts, and styles to build basically any thank you sentiment you may need in your life. And of course, the very first application of this set that comes to mind is to make a sentiment for a card. On the cards that I am showing today, I wanted to stretch this set beyond just using it as a companion sentiment. So I took a step further and made this set the key player in my card designs.

STAMPED BACKGROUND

When you have a sentiment stamp set, you can make a card with just this set by stamping a background using stamps from the set. It can be background stamped horizontally, vertically, diagonally, or spirally. You can use only one stamp from the set or all of them. You can stamp a monochromatic background or use a lot of ink colors. The sky is the limit.

For my card, I stamped a colorful background using almost all stamps from the set.

For stamping, I used some of the new dye inks – Ultramarine, Eastern Sky, Fuchsia, Fresh Leaf, Snapdragon.

I started stamping from the middle of a white panel making my way to the edges. For the elements positioned next to each other, I tried to change the font, color, and orientation to balance out the background.

After I finished stamping, I foam mounted the panel onto a white card base.

Next, I die cut a “thanks” word out of a Jet Black Cardstock using a die from the Script Words 2 Die Set and covered it with several coats of the Crystal Clear Embossing Powder. After that, I adhered the die-cut onto the card.

Lastly, I added several enamel dots.

CLEAR EMBOSSING RESIST

For my next card, I used the clear embossing resist effect to make white phrases in the middle of the feathers. Any other element can be used for this technique, anything solid that fit the sentiment you want to use.

I started by stamping several feather outlines onto a white panel using a stamp from the Faithful Feather Stamp Set and Jet Black Crisp Dye Ink.

Next, I clear embossed thank you in the middle of each feather. After that, I stamped over each outline feather with the solid stamp from the same stamp set.

I stamped the solid part with a slight shift along the outlines to add some interest. I also stamped each element twice. The first time I used a lighter ink and then was adding shading by stamping with a darker ink applied only onto one edge of the stamp. For stamping, I used the Ultramarine, Eastern Sky, Fuchsia, Baby Pink Crisp Dye Inks. Of course, I was using my mini MISTI to do double stamping.

Next, I added several Jet Black Ink Spray splatters onto the panel.

Then I foam mounted the panel onto a Real Gray card base.

After that, I white embossed another thank you onto a Jet Black Cardstock strip and popped it onto the card.

COLORFUL BANNERS

My last card was very quick and simple to make. It’s fun and colorful and gives you an opportunity to use some of those colored cardstock strips that we all have.

First, I white embossed several sentiments using different fonts onto colored cardstock strips and foam mounted them onto a white card base.

After that, I added several enamel dots of similar colors and called it a card!
