Altenew | Holiday Decor

Hi friends!

Today i want to share something different than usual – a holiday decor piece.

As a base I took a burlap panel. Mine is from Tim Holtz, but you can find those in a craft or art store or maybe even make yourself. First I unevenly covered the panel with embossing paste and let it dry. You can also use an acrylic paint on this step.

Then I inked it with embossing ink, added Translucent Pearl Embossing Powder and heat set it. This powder has sparkle particles in it and embossed over embossing powder created effect of iced snow.

Next I stamped and die-cut two red and tow green poinsettias using Build-A-Flower: Poinsettia. I stamped them onto a white cardstock and used Cotton Candy, Crimson and Grapevine Dye Inks for red poinsettias and Parrot, Olive and Moss for green ones. For each poinsettia after stamping the most top layer I double stamped it with embossing ink and heat emboss with  Translucent Pearl Embossing Powder to add sparkle.

Then I cut green poinsettias into 2-3 pieces and adhered these pieces behind red ones creating leaves for them.

 

I stamped pine branches from Poinsettia and Pine Stamp Set using Evergreen Dye Ink, inked them over using the same ink and die-cut using matching dies. Also I inked a piece of white cardstock with Grapevine Dye Ink and die-cut Believe word using a die from Holiday Scrip Word Die.

I adhered all elements onto the burlap panel using hot glue. To accentuate the decor piece I added several clear droplets using hot glue as well.

Hope you like my idea of how you can use stamp to make something different that a card. I will hang this piece on the wall when decorate for Christmas (currently I have thanksgiving decor on).
