Lesia Zgharda • Cottons In A Jar. Coloring With Pencils

Color a stamped image with pencils of brown shade on a kraft cardstock to get an interesting result of a sketch like image. Cotton branches in jar. Card by @craftwalks.

Hello!

Today I want to share a card made using amazing Lesia Zgharda Cotton stamps (stamps with image of cotton, not made of cotton lol).

To start off I stamped two cotton branches (this and this) in a jar onto a Parchment panel. These images are pretty small, so it would be hard to make a paper mask for them. So I mask areas I needed to mask using liquid frisket.

After that I colored the image using my Prismacolor pencils.
Stamped the sentiment, ties a twine around the panel and foam mounted it onto a card base made out of the same cardstock.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t see my coloring to turn out the way it did. These stamps are a bit small and are challenging to color. COPIC markers or watercolor wasn’t an option so I choose pencils. And I really love the result. It’s a bit vintagy and kind of arty. Looks like if I just sketched it myself from scratch 😉 I should probably reach my pencils more often 🙂
