The Ton’s Spring 2017 Release Blog Hop

The Ton April 2017 Release

Hi crafty friends!

Today I’m honored and excited to join The Ton in Spring 2017 release Blog Hop.

The Ton has 18 new stamps for their new Spring 2017 Release which includes up to three free gifts with purchases. For more information on The Ton’s incentive gifts, head over to The Ton’s blog. All new release products are available now!

You probably came from Brenda Noelke blog. If not – you may consider starting from the beginning at The Ton blog and see what other designers made.

CHANDELIER

I used new Chandelier stamp set to make this card. It’s so elegant and gorgeous!

The Ton Chandelier. Card by @craftwalks

First I created a simple watercolor background onto a panel cut out of Arches watercolor paper. I only started using this paper recently and hate myself for waiting so long. Such an awesome product.

Then a set it aside to let dry. I needed it to be bone dry, as my next step would be embossing. And here came into the play the new The Ton stamp set – Chandelier.

First I white embossed it in the left top part of the panel.

Next I stamped over white embossed design with Versamark ink and this time I poured White Puff powder. I then took a small brush and removed some powder her and there from the Chandelier to make the coverage a bit uneven. After that I heat set it.

This powder is so much fun!!! Its name is self explanatory. It puffs when heated. And the surface of embossing is lot glossy and slick as it is with regular embossing powder. But mat and bumpy. I really love its finish.

Next I stamped the Chandelier over one more time and this time poured Iridescent powder. To add some sparkle. To tie it with the sentiment and also because chandelier should have some sparkle 😉 The sentiment from the same stamp set was embossed bottom right part of the panel. For the bottom part of the sentiment I used regular embossing powder and for the top part – the puff one.

After that I adhered my panel onto a white card base and this finished my card. Very often I use small embellishments on my cards. Like sequins or drops. But here I didn’t feel like adding something.

FRESH CUT SUNFLOWERS

For my second card I used amazing Fresh Cut Sunflowers stamp set. It’s so realistic! I have weakness for realistic stamps. And these are sunflowers! My another weakness. I’m from Ukraine and Sunflower is like a signature Ukrainian flower 🙂 I grew up seeing incredibly beautiful and breathtaking sunflower fields. Sunflower oil is the major oil we use in Ukraine. And of course I’m addicted to their seeds 😉

The card look very simple, but it took me much more time to make 🙂 Mostly because it involved a lot of masking.

I cut several masks out of masking paper and stamped two flowers in the vase onto a white panel.  I then made a negative mask for the vase and inked inside of the vase, to make it look like it was made out of blue glass. I was using ink daubers, as they’re smaller and more convenient when working within small areas.

A stamped a simple sentiment in black and then adhered the panel onto a parchment card base. Several clear droplets finished off my card.

Had so much fun playing with this set. When I first tried it I was wowing for a while, impressed by how realistic it was.

Hope you liked my cards and got ideas how these stamps can be used 🙂
