Lesia Zgharda • Raccoon With Cake

Hello! Today I want to share a sweet and cute card made using Lesia Zgharda stamps. I already showed this cake here yesterday and today I’m sharing another way it can be use. For this card I did a lot of stretching my stamps, as I wanted to combine two stamps together (the cake mentioned and adorable raccoon) and needed some adjustments to make them work.

Originally the raccoon “comes” with a present, it surprisingly wows looking at the present it got. I wanted to replace the present with a cake.

First I made a cake, by stamping layers with Altenew CottonCandy ink and filing and icing with Altenew Dark Chocolate one. To make them look more realistic I poured some embossing powder right away and melted it.

I also made 4 layer cake (the stamp has three layers), as needed it to be a bit taller in order to cover the present.

Then I cut the cake out using my scissors and I cut it narrower, again, to fit better “into” the raccoon. I also “took some bites off” using tiny hole punch on my Crop-A-Dile.

As for raccoon – I stamped it with Memento Luxe Peanut Brittle pigment ink and colored with COPICs. Frankly I’m not sure if pigment inks are COPIC friendly. I didn’t want to use black ink for outline, but don’t have COPIC friendly dye ink of corresponding color. So I tried pigment one and it didn’t smudge.
Now I want to experiment more to see if I can use them of future. As all my die inks (except of a couple) are not COPIC friendly.

I made raccoon eyes with COPIC opaque white and 0.3 liner. And also I covered white part above the eyes (how does this thing called? eyebrows?) with opaque white. And I added some brown spots on it’s face like if it was chocolate smudged.I cut out the raccoon out and cut its tail off. Then I started assembling my card.

Using a stitched rectangle die from MFT Blueprints 29 set I cut a white panel and pink “quarter of a panel”. Stamped a sentiment and them adhered them onto a white card base, placing the pink part to the bottom.
I also cut out  two MFT Chevron Fringe of the same pink and brown cardstock and adhered them to the bottom part of the panel.

I foam mounted the raccoon body positioning it like it was sitting on the fringe, adhered the cake over its present and them mounted the tail over.Lastly I added several enamel dots of corresponding colors.
