Hello and welcome to Altenew January Release Blog Hop!
We are releasing 18 new amazing stamp sets, 18 matching die sets, and 12 new yummy inks.
I will be sharing four cards made using new supplies from this release.
GARDEN HYDRANGEA
For my first card I used a new Garden Hydrangea set, which is just gorgeous. So Altenew!
To start off I stamped the flowers onto Pale Gray cardstock using new Tropical Forest inks (Moss, Olive and Parrot) and then die cut them with matching die.
Onto an A2 card base made out of the same cardstock I stamped leaves using Evergreen, Forest Glades and Frayed Leaf inks. For some leaves I stamped outline and highlights, some only made outlined.
The flowers were next foam mounted onto the card base and the sentiment stamped using Evergreen ink. I finished off my card by adding several sequins.
I like kind of sketchy design I got. Like for some leaves are only outlines drawn, some are half done with highlights added. And the flower part is finished.
And I like how stamping look on gray cardstock. Not speaking of me loving gray so much in any shape or form. Also on this card you can see how new green inks differ from old ones. Keep in mind that all they’re stamped onto a light gray cardstock. Stamping with these colors on white will be a bit different of course.
BOUQUET IN A MILK GLASS VASE
The second card I’m sharing today features Life Is Beautiful set. It has two vases (with two stamps for each one) and a bunch of small flowers of different type. It’s such I great set of you want to have different flowers for different occasions, people or designs.
I wanted my vase look like it was made of milk glass. To achieve this look I made it in double embossing technique, by white embossing each layer. I used white embossing powders of different colors, which may sound silly. But they’re of different colors as you can see. One is Hero Arts – a true white and another is AC Zing!, it has a cream undertone, although it’s claimed to be white as well.
You don’t have to have white powders of different colors (still sounds funny lol). One will work as well. You won’t get a difference in color, but you get a dimension.
Next onto a Classic Crest Solar White cardstock I stamped a flower bouquet using new Warm And Cozy inks. There was lots of masking and tedious stamping, but hey! We all are here because we love stamping 🙂 After that I cut out the bouquet using scissors.
I created a DYI woodgrain background stamping woodgrain using a stamp from set with Espresso ink and then inking it over using the same ink. I have a video where I share this technique.
I tied a twine around woodgrain panel and foam mounted in onto an A2 card base made out of Spicy Yogurt cardstock. Then the vase and flowers were foam mounted onto the panel.
Finally I white embossed a sentiment from Penned Rose set onto a vellum stripe which in turn was adhered onto the vase and added several orange sequins.
By the way – can you see adhesive I used to adhere it? I was using Ranger Multi Medium Matte. It’s a great adhesive, very strong, dries clear, the clearest of all adhesives I ever used. Though it’s still noticeable when used with vellum adhered to a cardstock. So adhering vellum we need to be as creative as possible, hiding adhesive under sequins, think lines of embossing etc.
But it’s not seen when vellum is adhered onto embossed surface. I applied adhesive onto this vellum stripe generously, spread all over, no hiding under embossed sentiment. And it’s absolutely not noticeable. Just a little trick for you. I know many of us are struggling with adhering vellum.
BLUE FEATHERS
It wouldn’t be me if I didn’t created a card with blue stamping. If you are following me for some time you may already know it. If you’re new here – “Hi! I’m Svitlana. And I’m addicted to blue”.
For this card I used Faithful Feather stamp set. I stamped feathers of different colors using Desert Night, Dusk and Ocean Waves inks onto a white panel. There was a lot of masking and multi masking, but that’s what I like to do.
Two darker feather I emphasized by adding gold embossed outline.
Finally I stamped a sentiment, added several gold sequins and enamel dots, adhered the panel onto an A2 card base made out of Navy cardstock and called it a card!
COOL GRAYS AND CORAL
And my last card for today features Amazing You stamp set and new Rock Collection inks (these are cool grays – LOVE).
I made an A2 side folding card base out of Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and first stamped stems and leaves all around it using different gray inks. Then I created negative mask for each leaf (I should admit that there were a lot of masking for this release, I used it on each card). I colored leaves using the same inks. I did coloring by applying negative masks and then inking inside. I did inking using an ink dauber and ink blending tool.
I stamped a sentiment onto the card base as well.
Flowers were stamped with Coral Berry ink, colored using Altenew markers and die cut using matching dies. Then they were adhered to the card base, some I adhered flat, some – using foam adhesive squares.
To finish off this card I added gray sequins and small dots all around flowers using silver pen (just felt needed to add something).
Whoa! That was a mouthful! I hope you liked my cards and got ideas of how you can use new Altenew supplies.

… dare I confess that I leave the hydrangea flowers on the plants, long after they have finished blooming? The colours go back to green with tinges of reddish-purple and remind me so much of your 1st card. My Father even has a green flowered rose in his garden because he knows I adore green flowers (Viridiflora).
