Hi everyone!
I was on Altenew blog a couple days ago sharing a simple card featuring dahlia and sunflower bouquet. Once I saw a wedding bouquets and floral arrangements using dahlia and sunflowers and got the idea to try it on a card. I should say that wedding floral arrangements is a great inspiration for a card, especially if you struggle with choosing colors or assembling a floral cluster.
To make this card I used two of my favorite stamp sets – Dahlia Blossoms and Spring Daisy.First I stamped the dahlias using the Dusk and Desert Night inks. I used my MISTI for stamping, this tool really comes in handy when working with layered stamps. After stamping I die cut images using matching dies.
Next, I stamped daisies using Mango Smoothie, Warm Sunshine and Dark Chocolate inks, so they looked like sunflowers and die-cut them using matching dies. The set of matching dies only has a die for one leaf, so I cut out another one using my scissors.
Also I stamped and die cut leaves from both stamp sets using Forest Glades and Evergreen inks.I arranged my bouquet by adhering flowers and leaves on a card base I made out of Classic Crest Solar White cardstock. Some of them I was adhering flat, for some used dimensional adhesive squares. And I used both regular and thin ones, to make several layers of dimension and have all elements even on each layer.
To finish off my card I stamped and cut out the sentiment from Label Love stamp set in Dark Chocolate ink. I adhered it onto the floral arrangements, followed by adding several clear droplets of different sizes from Studio Katia. I linked the ones I used below, these sometimes are hard to find, and this store also carries them. As always I used Ranger Multi Medium Matte Glue with Precision Tip. This glue is very strong and works very well with small embellishments like this, and the precision tip helps to apply very small amount of it, that sometimes can be very helpful as well.
That would be all for this card. It was very simple to make. I like that was able to combine flowers from different sets. And I’m glad that saw that wedding floral arrangement one day. Do you ever inspired for a card by something from “real life”?
