Christmas in July

Hey!

It’s Christmas in July, isn’t it? So I’m showing some cards I made.. the last year. But never had time to show them in the blog. Now I thing the timing is good as Christmas in July + it’s time to start making holiday card for this year.
Mostly all cards being shown in this post were inspired by some other design work or objects.

Starting with cards inspired by stores windows.

The first two are Saks Fifth Avenue Christmas window inspiration. They had this Yeti story on the most windows, but some (with mannequins) had kind of blueprint background and some soft-looking hanging snowflakes. I like that idea of mixing brutal and soft, so created two cards. With chalkboard backgrounds and Tim Holtz blueprint stamps. Then added snowflakes (covered with dry glitter and flock).Card_131130_01 Card_131130_02 Card_131130_03

And here are Saks windows that inspired me for this card
The next window is Free people. Then first moment I saw this wreath – wanted run home and start making card replicating this look.
Created two cards. One is more CAS and another is not. It’s strange but like non-CAS more. So puffy 🙂
Kraft background “sprinkled” with white paint, then wreath die-cuts, some twine, some felt. Felt was adhered to a white cardstock before die-cutting (this way it keeps its shape better).Card_20140120_01Card_20140120_02 Card_20140120_03 Card_20140120_04The next card is for secret Santa we  had at work. It was a twisted version, so nobody knew who to buy a present, event a gender. So I decided to buy some beautiful ornament, went to Pier 1 and OMG – saw an adorable moose there (which also played a role of a candle holder)! Without any hesitations  got this moose. And created a card inspired by it 🙂

The final card for today wasn’t inspired by anything 🙂 Although it was – by the classically wonderful PTI snowflake stamps and dies.
Card_131209_01 Card_131209_02I told above that this post originally was planned to be shown last December. So I had these photos of our Christmas tree and other decor. Decided to leave these photos. As this is Christmas in July, isn’t it? 🙂

Thank you for visiting.
