After creating watercolor background it can be a struggle of what to do next. Especially if it’s bold and heavy. Simon Says Stamp Clustered Leaves die can be one of the solutions.
Hi everyone! Hope you’re having a great day and enjoying your Monday. Today I brought two more cards that I made coloring with Kathy.

I saw a color combo “deep dark teal+mint” somewhere on Pinterest and it didn’t want to let me go. I wanted to try it desperately. First I tried making teal background and add mint elements to it, but didn’t like it. Then I decided to make a background using these colors. After many hours playing with watercolor (so I even reached the pan bottom in there colors) and wasting some paper I finally got the background I liked.As it was kind of busy and bold, adding something to it was a challenge. Moreover I needed something to tone it down;)

So I took Simon Says Stamp Clustered Leaves die and cut a leaves branch design out of the background I had made. Also I cut a couple of branches out of white watercolor paper. Even though I didn’t plan to watercolor these die cuts, I took a watercolor paper as it matched the background thickness and texture. I used Tim Holtz watercolor paper as it’s the whitest I even seen and I wanted this die-cut to be white.

I run the watercolor panel trough my die-cutting machine to flatten it a bit, as it warped a lot after watercoloring ( I do so by adding several peaces of some cheapo printer paper as a shim). Next I adhered the watercolored panel to a white card base. As a watercolor paper isn’t smooth and there were still a little bit of warping left – I used a very strong tape adhesive to adhere it as flat as possible. After that I adhered white die-cuts in their corresponding negative space in the panel.

I white embossed the sentiment from SSS Be set in the middle bottom part of the panel and added some sequins and gems as finishing touches.There are some dies that just doesn’t let you end up with only one card as both their negative and positive die-cuts are to die for. And this dis is one of those.
Every time I used it, either to create a die-cut or cut a negative space – I always end up with two cards, as just cannot get rid of what is left after die-cutting.So here I took those die-cuts I made out of watercolor panel and adhered them to a white card base. I added a sentiment stamped using SSS Teal ink and some sequins and gems.
