Hello! It’s coloring with Kathy time of the year and I brought another card I made using coloring. This time it’s pearlescent coloring, for which I used my Pearlescent Jewel Box Palette. Yet another medium that I bought a while ago and never used till now.

For this card I choose Wplus9 Botanical Bunch set and white embossed the gorgeous floral piece on a black panel. I used Hero Arts White Embossing Powder here, it’s the best one if you want to get a clear and crisp result.Pearlescent coloring with Wplus9 Botanical Bunch. Card by @s_shayevichAnother fun fact. Recently I replaced my Versamark embossing ink pad. I used the previous one for several years and it still had some ink with it. And it had been in this condition “still has ink” maybe for the previous year. I don’t know why I decided to open a new one. OMG! There is so much difference! No comparison with “still has ink” one. It’s so juicy, holds the powder better and gives much better result!

So my advice for you – if you’re having problems with getting a good impression with clear embossing ink when the pad is not very new and have been used a lot – consider replacing it. Especially as there are still several uses for an old embossing ink pad.

Next, after embossing the floral piece, I colored it using my Pearlescent Jewel Box Palette. I never did pearlescent coloring before and thought the result and the processes will It’s a pearlescent watercolor, although I should say it doesn’t behave exactly as watercolor does. I don’t have much experience with it but should say that with regular watercolor it’s much easier for me go get a result I like.Pearlescent coloring with Wplus9 Botanical Bunch. I think it’s better to be used on darker backgrounds as gives the better results.

Next I white embossed hello sentiment from Hand Lettered Hello set. Added several gold sequins, foam mounted the panel to a white card base and called it a day.Pearlescent coloring with Wplus9 Botanical Bunch.
