Hello! It’s me again with another card featuring a dragon. Once I saw that sentiment on a T-shirt or something and I thought it would be a great one for a card. And with these dragons set from Clearly Besotted I decided to give this idea a try.Adorable baby dragon is still a dragon. Watercolor flame background. Dragon - Hot Stuff from Clearly Besotted. Card by @s_shayevich. First I watercolor a flame background using my Gansai Tambi set. I did it in wet-on-wet technique. Just took a yellow, orange, red and black pans, wet my watercolor paper with clean water and started adding these colors. Mostly I kept yellow in the middle, then orange, then red and black is on the edges. But of course after water did its job there was some color mixing with I like so much. It ended up looking so realistic! Like a real flame.Adorable baby dragon is still a dragon. Watercolor flame background. Dragon - Hot Stuff from Clearly Besotted. Card by @s_shayevich.As my watercolor background warped a lot – I ran it through my Artisan die-cutting machine adding several sheets of thin paper as a shim. It helped to flat it a lot.

Next I stamped a dragon baby onto a Neenah Solar White cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink,  colored it with my COPIC markers and cut it out with my scissors (love them so much, they make it so easy to cut out even so intricate and small shapes). After that I adhered him in the middle of the panel using black foam squares.Adorable baby dragon is still a dragon. Watercolor flame background. Dragon - Hot Stuff from Clearly Besotted. Card by @s_shayevich.As there was no way I could find a stamp saying what I wanted to have as a sentiment and phrases are to long to use an alphabet stamp set I did what I almost never do – printed them off.
Oh my… it was so hard. I know sometimes we struggle with stamping a sentiment straight and with it to be stamped crisp. But printing isn’t much easier. It was a challenge for me to cut out these stripes to have printed phrases perfectly in the middle. In fact after the third try I gave up and still have them not perfect.
Finally I adhered the watercolor panel to a card base made out of Neenah Solar White. I used Be Creative tape as a warped and not smooth watercolor paper can be tricky to be adhered flat and a you want to use a strong adhesive like this one.

So this is my card for today. Hope you’re having a great day (and it’s not so hell hot as on my card).
