Wooden cards

Hi there!

Today I want to share two “wooden” cards. I love making something wood and it’s been a while since I last did wood.

For the first card I did something that doesn’t happen to me very often – used PP. The MME one with a bunch of wood designs. For flowers I used stamps and dies sets. I only used the flowers centers stamps, which I stamped in the middle of die-cuts. I didn’t want to cover PP design stamping full flowers on them. Also I wanted to use dies, which are a bit bigger, then stamps and in this case I didn’t want to have this border.

Die-cut flowers overlapping this bottom stripe and each other, inlaid die-cutting technique. Which I modified making it dimensional. I wanted my card to be as wood as possible, so flowers made as wood veneers. Die-cut several layers, two of which are browns. That made them look more like veneers.
To finish the card I added some woodgrain sequins.

First I made a “wooden” card base (stamping and inking on a kraft cardstock) and stamped the moon in “wood colors”. Then I made a slightly narrower front panel with the same wooden design and die-cut a circle in it. The wooden moon and wooden leaves (stamped on the similar DIY wood paper) are picking out from the circle window. The sentiment is finishing the card.

I’m  linking up this card to CASology Week 163: MOON challenge. Love moon theme and have so many ideas in mind. Just couldn’t pass this challenge 🙂
