Winter Is Coming

Hi there!

Today I have one card to share. It’s one of my most unusual and probably most beloved one. Those who watched Game of Thrones I believe are recognizing this scene. And those who didn’t – really? There are people who didn’t watch Thrones?

Since recently I desperately wanted to create a winter card featuring Stark’s motto – Winter Is Coming. But I do not have any appropriate stamp – no direwolf no valyrian steel sword. What a misery! So I was suffering in this desire until I suddenly got this idea – to create a scene of gloomy wood, with some mist and sparse snowflakes. With the motto upon this scene.
Happily I have Birch Trees stamps from Clearly Besotted.

After I had the idea in mind it was pretty simple to make this card. I inked the whole background with new Distress Inks Hickory Smoke, stamped birches in black and grey (SSS Cobblestone And Black). The final step – the motto in white embossing. I didn’t have an alphabet stamps set that would look like Game of Thrones like, so I just modified O and T 🙂
