Cards featuring flowers

Hi there!

I mentioned recently that had changed my crafting schedule. Before I mostly made cards (well almost ALWAYS made cards). And even though cards are my favorite type of crafting, and they took less time, and it’s not so hard for me to make them … there are other projects, more time and recourse consuming, but which are more important to have done. I.e. catching up on PL, making some projects for presents, home decor, etc. So with all being said I had to reduce my cardmaking time. So now only one week in a month is devoted to cards. And that was the last week! So in this post I wanna show its results – several cards featuring flowers.
The first card took much more time then I expected. As I had to stamp dozens of these roses. By the way, among all layered stamps these roses are the easiest to line up. It took more time as there are a lot more f roses. And even more leaves (they are more forgiving, but there are SO MANY leaves options).
Anyway, after the background was stamped – I covered it with vellum following by quatrefoil background die cut. Then added a couple of roses on the top, along with leaves (some of them I put underneath of quatrefoil) and background. Pretty simple techniques-wise, but time consuming as there were a lot of stamping, masking and delicate adhering.

And yet I wasn’t full with these roses, wanted to make another card. This idea of mixing striped background with a mint one with hot pink roses on top I had in mind for a while. Finally put it in card. There is a productivity blogger, Alexis, who I love and learned a lot from her. So this card was inspired by her brand and if I had her mailing address – I’d definitely send this card to her 🙂Card_20150628_01The next one has an interesting story.
cas cardI had an idea of a card after seeing this  cami from Expressnew_75_628_2834_017_33Do not like this cami at all as a piece of clothing, as well as do not like this tropical pattern (just not my thing). But I like the graphic design and how black parts of the patter looked. So wanted to try replicating this design in a form of a card. But.. I do not have stamps that could suit this purpose. So almost gave up on this idea. When found these HA stamp from a long time ago. It felt like they are the best for my idea. So started stamping and the card was ready in 5 minutesCard_20150621_02But I didn’t like it 🙁 Looks like something made by a lame crafter who only has one color of ink lol.  Added some enamel dots to bring some color – didn’t help.  So this card was about to be discarded… when I remembered about coloring marathon I wanted to participate (the two thirds of it were left behind but still). So I just grabbed a couple of COPICs, without caring much about colors and colored flowers. Surprisingly enough – this card made it almost to the top of all my IG. So this card made it from a trash bin to an IG star lol.

And the last card for today – pretty simple inlaid die-cutting along with COPIC shading. Still wanted to replicate that Express cami. Not exact picture I had in my head but it calmed me down a bit 🙂

Card_20150628_03Now I’m working on a completely different project, covered with paint in even unexpected spots of my body 🙂 Hope to finish it soon and share with you.
