I always enjoy creating rustic-inspired cards, and for this get well design I paired soft pink blossoms with a rich blue wood background. The combination of rustic textures and bright florals creates a cheerful card that’s perfect for wishing someone a speedy recovery.
To create the background, I die cut white cardstock using Papertrey Ink Woodwork Die Set. Instead of removing all of the die-cut pieces, I left them in place to keep the panel intact while still showing the detailed woodgrain texture. I then ink blended blue Distress Inks over the entire panel, allowing the texture to stand out and resemble painted wooden planks.
The floral arrangement was created using the Papertrey Ink Abundant Blooms Stamp Set and coordinating Papertrey Ink Abundant Blooms Die. I stamped the flowers onto white cardstock using several shades of pink ink before die cutting them and arranging them into a full bouquet.
For the vase, I stamped the image onto Papertrey Ink Paper Basics – Rustic White Cardstock using a light brown ink. I really like using Rustic White cardstock for vintage-inspired projects because it has a subtle warm tint instead of a bright white finish, making the vase feel softer and more natural against the cool blue background.
After arranging the bouquet inside the vase, I tied a piece of American Crafts Jute Basics Ribbon around it for an extra rustic touch and added a few iridescent gems around the card for sparkle.
The sentiment from the Papertrey Ink Just Sentiments: Get Well Mini Stamp Set was white heat embossed on black cardstock before being popped up with foam adhesive. The bold black sentiment stands out nicely against the softer colors while wishing the recipient a speedy recovery.
